I wasn't sure where to post this, so if if needs to be moved that's fine. :)

I'm considering buying some Teva flip flops to take for our upcoming trip in May. I would love to hear from those who have worn them specifically for theme park touring or other activities that you're on your feet all day on hot concrete. I usually just wear athletic shoes and socks, but would love to be able to wear flip flops, but don't want to pay the price later! TIA!

Love Tevas and everyone in my family has worn them extensively and in the parks. They're durable and comfortable. Of course, if you do buy some and since you're going in May, get them sooner rather than later and put some serious miles in them to get them broken in and get your feet used to them before heading to WDW.

I have had both Teva and Chaco flip flops. I find Chaco FAR more comfortable - more supportive footbed with a nice arch support and lots of sole to protect my toes.

I usually wear sneakers. A few summers ago, I bought a pair of sandals at Famous Footwear, and much to my wife's embarrassment, proceeded to wear them on vacation, with socks :) I liked them, but towards the end of the day, my feet weren't terribly happy with them, and I wound up back in my tried and true Nike's for most of the vacation.

Last summer, after reading so many positive posts about Tevas here, I decided to give them a try. I couldn't be happier. They are plenty comfortable, even at the end of the day. I would say I wore them at least as much as I wore my sneakers last vacation, and they are still in very good shape, and should get me through this summer as well.

I used to wear flip flops all the time in the parks, but they really started to hurt my feet and, as a PP pointed out, are difficult to wear when it rains. I bought a pair of Ryka savannah sandals for our last trip. They are very lightweight and very comfortable.

Deciding today, which is the reason for the post, lol. I guess I should of probably asked a few months ago and decided! Thanks for the advice.

I'll look into the Chacos too, thanks!

I love Tevas. I have originals and flip flops, but I would only wear the originals to the parks.

Teva sandals sure. Teva flip flops, or any kind of flip flop, no way, not for me at least. For the number of steps involved in a Disney day, I need something firmly strapped to my feet. While I love my Teva Mush flips for around the house, they don't offer enough support for many hours and thousands of steps on my feet. As for Teva sandals, I like the terra-fi and the hurricane. Good support, pretty comfortable. My Keens are more comfortable sandals, but the Tevas aren't too bad.

I love the flip flops , however my problem with wearing them in the parks is when people walk up quickly behind you and step on your shoe when you go to step.

I think now I may be leaning more towards the Teva Sandal Vs the flip flops. I think maybe those would be a bit easier to walk in when wet.

I'm thinking about getting a pair, too. I love my TEVA Mush flip flops, so I know their shoes are comfy. Right now I am living in Keens, though.

I love Teva mush flip flops for the parks, but I am a habitual flip flop wearer, so I don't have any problems wearing them to do anything. I could probably hike in them, LOL. I also love yellowbox mellowmat flip flops, which is what I've worn for the past two trips (

On the flip side, my husband is NOT a flip flop wearer at all, and he had minimal issues with the Teva mush flips. He'd switch to something else in the evenings, and it worked for him.

I must agree with your wife......:sad2:
Yeah, my daughter agrees with her too lol.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my wife, and her opinion absolutely matters to me . .. . but . . . . my feet are comfy, I just couldn't care less hahahaha.

We had a relatively wet MK morning last summer. For that morning, I took the socks off, and the TEVA sandals were about as comfortable as I think you are going to get walking in the rain. I did develop some small blisters as a result of wearing sandals barefoot (hence me always wearing the socks, I just blister so darned easily), but overall, they were pretty comfy, and easy enough to walk in when wet.

As long as the weather is above 55, I pretty much live in my Teva Mush flip-flops. I can't remember if I've worn them for a long park day at Disney World, but I've worn them for sure at Disneyland and for an architectural walking tour around Chicago.

If you go with the flip-flops, I strongly recommend the original Mush over the Mush II.
