Testing requirements for UK/London

Fun story-when I went to Ireland, the book of Kells was the biggest disappointment. But while I was there (I was with my college choir and I was with a friend because I was in a walking boot and had a wheelchair), the Trinity College employees were like “don’t forget to visit the library!” Needless to say because we beat the rest of my choir up there (much like DAS in theme parks you go in earlier and different routes) my friend and I had an extra half hour in that gorgeous library before our choir and everyone else during our scheduled time!
so yes libraries make me very excited lol
It’s MUCH more than a library but the public part of the library is beautiful.

I can attest that those cushions are comfy.

New update from The UK Government for anyone arriving into The UK.

All travelers entering the UK will now have to take a PCR test within two days of entering the country and will have to self-isolate until a negative test is returned.

All those who have been in contact with a person who tests positive for the Omicron variant will have to self-isolate regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated.

Face coverings will once again become compulsory in shops and on public transport in England from next week. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland they are still mandatory on public transport and many indoor areas.

Hospitality will be exempt from the rule change on face coverings.

Ten countries are now on the UK's travel red list meaning, from Sunday at 04:00 GMT, all arrivals will have to quarantine in a hotel for 10 days. They are
  • South Africa
  • Namibia
  • Zimbabwe
  • Botswana
  • Lesotho
  • Eswatini
  • Angola
  • Mozambique
  • Malawi
  • Zambia
Due to the Common Travel Agreement anyone travelling to the UK from Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man don’t need to:
  • Take any Covid-19 tests
  • Complete a passenger locator form
  • Quarantine on arrival
The exemptions for people due to the Common Travel Agreement ONLY apply if the person has not been outside Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man in the previous 10 days

Dear disboards friends in the UK and Ireland I have been thinking about all of you during this omicron spike! I hope you are all safe and sound!

As of right now we are still hoping to go to London later this year but already have a back up vacation incase. Hopefully more people will get vaccinated and stay healthy so I can visit and use all the advice you have given me on this thread.

May your new year be happy and healthy!

Hi all!
First and foremost I hope you are all safe and sound across the pond.

secondly I just read Ana reticle about your testing and quarantine requirements changing.
What do we think this will mean for August/ September?
I’m still not holding my breath and we have a backup plan ready to go but out of curiousity I am asking you all what you think.
Our biggest concern is not getting home. And as of right now you still have to isolate when you get to London for two days last I read.
