Test Your "Ancient" Knowledge of the Podcast

I hope folks will keep guessing about Julie's job (because I recall her saying something different). To be clear, right park. Different job.

I believe Julie was a "shallow end" lifeguard.

I am just going back to listen to old episodes and enjoying them. Here's how times have changed.

  • Pete was calling the head of Apple, Steve Jobes.
  • John and Kevin didn't have passports
  • The team thought Tiger Woods was a good spokesman for Disney because of his "clean image"

Well, there goes one of my questions. ;)

:thumbsup2

just wanted to chime in!

I'm enjoying the thread - although my memory capability seems to have deserted me.

I think it fair to call this one answered. On the 2/27/07 podcast, a listener asked the podcast team about jobs they had worked for Disney. Julie said she had worked at Blizzard Beach in the kid area. She also said all lifeguards had to experience summit plummet at least once.

How about a Bob question - one I didn't know myself.

It's well know that Bob loved a good meal. But several times, Bob said, quite articulately, that he didn't like one of the table service restaurants in the World Showcase.

Which restaurant was it?

I think it was Marrakesh in Morocco. And Bob usually sneezed when he was full and done eating. :goodvibes

Now here is one for you Jack and of course anyone else playing along:

Pete had a friend on the podcast once who had been a personal assistant for what celebrity?

That wasn't the restaurant Bob mentioned on the podcasts so far. For this one, he just didn't like the food at all, and was quite vocal about it. He did like one item (a hot dog) at a vending cart in this country.

Bob didn't like that the America's Pavilion served bad food, but that was not a table service restaurant.

As for the celebrity, it was Elton John.

Bob mentioned a couple times he didn't like: the Biergarten, maybe because he wasn't drinking enough beer like everyone else.

Great thread! Thanks Kevin for plugging it on the podcast so we could look for it. I've been listening since day 1. Will have to try and guess some of these.

Also, thanks for the old archives link. Can someone tell me how to get itunes to download these without doing them one at a time?

BlueFairy - I downloaded all the podcasts long ago so I'm not really able to help you. A lot of the older podcasts show up on iTunes but you get an error message when you try to "save" them (in iTunes-speak). Manually downloading them from the xml file and then importing the missing episodes into iTunes is probably your best bet.

Bob just plain hated Biergarten. He thought the food was terrible.

How about this one - when John Magi worked for Disney as a network administrator where did he work or, more precisely, what WDW park, resort or other location did he support?

Anyone, Anyone?

Maybe this will help

Think I knew this even without the hint, but wasn't it Caribbean Beach?

Edited to add: The URL of the image suggests I am right :)

Awesome thread, been enjoying reading it a lot! As a VERY "newbie watcher" of the podcasts a little over a year ago, but am HOOKED - I can't answer any of the questions, but I am enjoying watching the conversation, and getting to "know the podcast crew" through the answers. I also think it's very clever how you decided to "hide the answers". Thanx for the fun!!

it was Caribbean Beach, but John also enjoyed this temporary experience as a bus boy. Who'd have thought?

At what EPCOT attraction did Pete have his first "live" encounter with a podcast listener?

Was it Soarin'?

Seems like that can't be right, but it sticks in my head.

What resort does Pete consistently say is the best in Orlando, both recently and in the early days of the podcast?

No but good guess.

I'm clueless about the resort, could be one of several, but definitely not the Contemporary. My guess is Swan / Dolphin

I believe it was also the first attraction Pete ever went on...Spaceship Earth

Yes.

Who is Kevin's "best friend" and why?
