How long is the standby wait for these two if you go right at rope drop - going this week - so not peak crowds. I know what is usually posted but for anyone who's done either recently - how has it been? Trying to time some things and want to know what to generally expect. (Have FP for soarin and hoping to do tt at drop).

Haven't done either standby in years but kids finally tall enough to ride so no more splitting FP and using swap!

You should be fine getting on TT at rope drop. Make sure to be at the gates at least 30 minutes early so you can boggie over there right away.

Can't help you with exact wait times...but I definitely think you need to do TT at rope drop based on what I saw when I was there in September. It had by far the longer wait of the two. We used our FPs on Soarin because I'm pregnant and that was the one I could ride...but both times I actually felt like it was a waste of FP because both us and standby walked right on...in the middle of the day!! This happened twice. I know the line typically builds so it was rather odd...but TT CONSISTENTLY had a longer wait. I found that I could stop at a few things on the way to Soarin at RD and it was still a very short wait if I got to the queue30-45 minutes after rope drop. TT on the other hand seemed to have long waits all day long. You should be able to do both at RD (I would do TT first) and then use your FP for Soarin' later in the day. I personally would still keep the Soarin FP because I don't care for the merge point at TT...I don't feel like the FP is as effective there. Plus...I would always rather 2 rides on Soarin vs TT...but that's just a personal preference.

Good luck and have a great time!!

At end of August we had no problem heading to Soarin' at rope drop, got in a quick Nemo ride, had a FP+ for 9:30 on Test Track, and then rode Mission Space after that. Worked like a champ. I think we were done with all 4 by 10:30 a.m.

We were there at rope drop 2 weeks ago and only stood in standby for 10 min for Soarin.

That's great news. ON JAN 14th, our first FP+ is for Test Track @ 10:30am and was hoping to do Soarin stand-by without a long wait. This is out first trip with FP+ and hoping to have a good experience overall with it.

In August, we had a FP for TT and decided to do Soarin' standby. Got there about 15 minutes before rope drop and headed straight to the ride once the gates opened. We walked right in, no wait at all. But by the time we finished the ride and were heading out, the standby line was already 30 minutes!

So if you make it a point to be at rope drop and do it before anything else, you should be fine. But even a few minutes later could make a difference!

How about during EMH? I'll be at Epcot on the 6th which is an EMH day and I'm wondering how the line will be for TT right at the start of EMH

Based on the advice on these boards, we hit Soarin' first during EMH for 8 am RD and then went straight to TT and on to Mission Space and were done with all 3 and had a bathroom break before 9:30. If your party is willing to do single rider on TT the waits are even less. For our first ride DD and I wanted to stay together, but after that we utilized the single rider the rest of our trip. Only problem with TT is it can be hit or miss with "break downs", so if you go there first and encounter one, the line at Soarin' will be building...
