Test Track Refurb (Rumor)

(11/6/07) From the sound of the latest rumor, Test Track will become a real WDI Test Track at some point in late 2008 or early 2009. Seems they have a number of improvements and upgrades they want to make to the ride system before they begun full on construction of the dual-tracked Cars themed version at California Adventure and the best place to test out the prototypes is on Test Track. I have no solid details on what may be in store or even if they will just run a few prototype cars or upgrade the entire ride system. Either way it sounds like an extended rehab will shut down the ride for several weeks in the next 12-18 months.

Noooooooo!!!!!!! Another ride messed up by theming it to movie characters. Test Track is great as it is..

I think a GM test track fits the theme of Epcot better than Cars does.

to me, it looks like they are just going to try to change how the cars run and not theme it to Cars. It says the Cars theme is for the new DCA version.

I like the fact at Epcot doesnt have many movie themed rides, and if they do they are educational (e.g Nemo). I like the fact that it tells you how cars perform, i dont want it to end up cheesy

Yeah, no, I hope it's just a rumor. I don't think they should redo the rides for the movies. They'll wear off after a while, but as it is, Test Track fits in perfectly with the EPCOT air.
