Test track is a how many times ride?

We did it twice on our last trip and spent over an hour in the area outside of the ride. My husband and boys had so much fun in the interactive area. Wasn't exactly my cup of tea, although I do love TT and would ride it 3-4 times each trip if I could. I wish though I could skip the whole car designing queue

I love the new TT, but we usually only do it once per trip. I think that's because it's a time eater. The line, even for FP+, has been more than we think is "short". Then (the best part) you design your car which is super fun, but takes time. Then, the ride. That's plenty of time investment for any one ride, in my opinion.

I think everyone is different...I would try it at least once. If you really like the ride, then go again! If not, at least you can say you gave it a shot!

We ride over and over and over again and again. We don't like the new theme, and we don't design our own cars. We ride single rider and just walk past the design section. We like the outside slingshot.
Normally we head there at RD and ride single rider till I am to dizzy (4-5x) then I wait in the showroom while they ride a few more times.

We FP+ Soarin cause I refuse to wait in a line that long for a ride that worn down.

We like it but I still think once (maybe twice if you have the time) per trip

Definitely several times per trip, especially at night. I love doing the outside loop when it's dark out. The only thing about this ride that makes me nervous is the fact that it breaks down so often. I can't tell you the number of times I've been up near the loading dock and then hearing the dreaded words, "Folks we apologize but the ride is down. We need everyone to leave." That happened one time after I had previously gotten a personal best score on the "Design a Car"... I forgot what number it was exactly but it was in the upper 220s I believe and I was so excited to take a picture of it.

Almost went postal!

Just got back - 1st time on TT since the refurb. We thought it was a blast (kids are 11 and 15)!! Had to do it twice and would have done more! The designing of the car and competing against others was fun. And I like all the fast twist and turns vs the boring "go thru the heater, go thru the cooler" stuff. It was way better than Soarin' which we also did twice. Soarin' was good if you are in the front row, but if you are in a back row seeing the people's feet above you detracts from the experience!

I always get one FP for Test Track, because we do like it and want to ride at least once a trip.

Then, we will ride again if we happen upon a short line at any time during our trip. :)

I really preferred the old version as I don't get the concept of this new version. As I go through the new TT I recite the dialogue of the original. Because of that and the new FP+ debacle we only ride it once per trip. We used to ride it multiple times per day.

When was the renovation? I rode it in 2013 and enjoyed it.

Well last time I was at Disney was 2011. Back then was before the dark ride theming and when they had the 'test crash dummy' feel to it. You went through the cold testing area, hot testing, and the fake 'acid' testing area.

Now it's all neon and black lights. Not a fan.

This thread has made me realize how uneducated I am on TT, I actually don't think I've been on it since the reno. With FP+ I've always chosen Soarin instead. If you go single rider do you have to design a car? I kind feel like I'd like to just get in line and just kind of... get in a car and go. If you go single rider do you make your car with someone else, or does everyone make their own?

Nah you don't have to 'make your own car.'

Just hop on and go.

In the queue, there are stations where you can design a car per rider and you can compete thru the ride which car performs best.

You definitely don't have to design a car if you don't want to. I didn't. Doesn't affect the ride at all.

We did 3 rides in about 15 minutes in the single rider line, and could have carried on but we only had the morning before we flew home and wanted to do some other stuff too!

Definitely a lot of fun!

I used to love it and it was a ride it 2x attraction but I'm not impressed AT ALL with the new one. I'll ride it maybe, but once is enough.
