Test Track Closed in January

Test Track - will be closed for refurbishment from January 9, 2006 thru February 14, 2006 and will reopen on February 15

This stinks - That's my favorite attraction at Epcot. Falls right on my trip.

Does anyone know if this is this just a "spit and shine" type of a cleanup rehab or are they making any changes to the ride system?

Not sure, but over a month is a pretty lengthy rehab for just a cleanup.

we are arriving on January 9th and this is one ride that hubby wanted to do. Oh well, I guess we will have to come back again when it is open

I hope it is a total overhaul. Half of the cars electronics don't work and it is constantly breaking down. We have been on it 8 different times on 3 trips when it has broken down!

I think that if they are taking a whole month you can expect some signifcant improvements.

Me too! I was totally bummed about it! I had only planned on riding Test Track and Soarin' while I was in Future World...

What site was that from? The WDW site still just lists the Rivertboat as being down.

Same for us, my DS 6 favorite ride, but he really enjoys Mission Space so hopefully that will be enough...and we haven't been on soarin yet...going back again in April so we can ride it then

That doesnt seem like enoug time to do something like new track layout.
Revamp yes as in like resurface jobs. Painting pulling apart the vehicles.
Its kind of like a roller coaster thing. Every 2 years they have to completely tear the trains down to the bare bolts. check all of them and put them back together.
