Test Track -- can you see it from the line?

Test Track was closed last time we were there. My kids are 6 and 9 now, but not thrill seekers (and I am a giant wimp, though I am more bothered by big hills than speed, I think, so I may do this ride). I am wondering if you can see the outdoor, fast part of Test Track from somewhere near the ride? Or perhaps in the line? We have FP for it, but I am thinking it will be a game-time decision for my kids and they are going to want to see it first.

No. We'll you can see where the track is (and hear the cars swish by) but you can't see the cars on the track.

You can see the track that circles the building outside. You can hear it much better than you can see what's actually going on. It's really a tame ride. Basically a convertible on the highway at the most intense part.

Have you let them watch a YouTube video of the ride? That could help.

My DD is afraid of almost everything, but she actually got on this no problem and even enjoyed it. She really wanted to ride again but we didn't get a chance. It's easier to get her on rides when she can't see it. She has said she won't ride it next trip though for some reason.

Test Track has no drops, only very steep turns at the very very end and some driving in tough conditions simulations. There's also a 'rest' segment that's right before what I think is the last segment with the steep turns. You'll only be able to hear people screaming from the front of the ride. Also, I'm not a thrill seeker and it's my fav ride, so give it a try!

You can't see it but you can hear it and it sounds like an actual race track, lol. This is 1 of my DS9 fav rides in all of the world LOL. My hubby wanted to go on it with him at 1 point but then chickened out because of the way it sounds, lol. It is a lot of fun! Just go on it and try it! You won't regret it LOL

My kids aren't thrill seekers either and they liked it. It took me years to get them on it though. Honestly it's like riding in a convertible with the top down, it's fun.

I've never seen it as a thrill ride. You are going around 60mph at it's fastest. But it's not like RnR type speed where it's so sudden you leave your stomach back at the start, lol. My MIL is the only person we've taken that doesn't like the ride one bit. It made her nauseated and she didn't like sitting so low to the ground.

I am a big ride wimp- just ask my 8 and 10 year old!
I went on Test Track 4 times in a row and loved it!

I wouldn't call it "tame". It's not a roller coaster but the end does have a very fast segment that feels like going around a banked raceway. Scared my 5 year old son the first time (twin sister loved it) but he enjoyed it the next year. As with any ride there - different things scare different people. As others have said - check out the videos. I personally think even the end isn't "scary" and unless speed is an issue - even if you don't love it it's not the type of ride to traumatize you!!!!

Depends on the kid. My 4 and 5 years old LOVED it. My 5 year old said it was his favorite ride.

My youngest was intimidated by the sound of the cars whizzing on the outside track and wouldn't ride it for quite a while. Once she rode it she loved it. I think a youtube video might help your kids, because when you are outside the ride, it really doesn't help you know what it's like and may sound scarier than it is.

The only part visible is the outside track. Which is about as thrill ride as it gets, which is more like driving fast in a convertible.

I like looking at the cars parked in the center circle. That's my favorite part. My dad loves the ride (he will be 70 this September) but he loves the "showroom" after the ride. He spent about 20 mins talking to one of the car guys and basically built his dream truck.
