Party on the patio @ Pam's:banana: :dance3: . I'm not real big on chick flicks, more of an action film or old b&w mysteries on A&E. I have been know to wear out copies of Gone With the Wind though.;) enjoy your free time!

mic - you sound quite polished to me! I broke 2 nails scrubbing the toilet this am...such a glamorous life:rotfl:

ed - scary experience, glad you're ok. Usually the highway roads are the best "kept". DH back out hauling steel today, said he already saw 2 accidents. The sun's shining here, evidently it's melting whats left on the roads & the wind is icing it over. Going to be a long week or 2 here.

tvt - best wishes, we'll leave a light on for you!

bob - lots of our neighbors are retired with the biggest/noisiest snow plows you've ever seen or have professionals :snooty: come in to do yardwork & snow removal. I figure if i shovel snow, i don't have to do the treadmill:teacher: lol. My youngest DS has been doing snow duty the last few days while he was off school (believe he's lobbying for a cell phone for his birthday;) ; just might work).

ocm - glad you had a nice dinner! hmmm, italian food...carb heaven; my family doesn't like it; so I rarely get to enjoy unless i make it myself. Got a couple gift cards to Olive Garden; probably the last person in USA who's never eaten there. I wasn't too impressed, plate had water underneath the noodles that dilluted the sauce. Hope it was an off night or I'll have to 'regift' the card.:rolleyes1

mac - doesn't seem like they ever call off school out your way...you guys must be used to navigating in the snow/cold. We had yet another 2 hour delay. Thus far, several snow days to 'make-up'; including the new policy of 3 two-hour delays = 1 snow day.:confused3 Kids might be done end of June the way we're going.

deena - weather map said it was mighty cold in TX, especially Dallas today too; guess we're all getting it good. Hope your boys feel better today.

I'll let the party in my house...it may be kinda nippy out on the patio...i guess we could build a fire in the firepit and then we might be set.:dance3:

I just called in sick to wal-mart:rolleyes: i'm really not but i don't have anyone to stay here with the kids. It would be different if it were my full time job:)

I just hope i don't see anyone when i go pick trent up from his club and noah when i take him to bb practice.:scared:

Whose into Survivor with me this season?

I really like Earl. I hope he goes far. He is cracking me up tonight.

Oh btw Jayne Connor's team is the Red Sox. Evan is on the Braves.

WHOO HOOO!! Go braves and red sox (damn I never thought I would say that.)

I am watching survivor, but missed it last night. My parents aren't a fan so we watched some movie. I thought my mom and I were going to see Because I Said So, but we didn't have time to catch it. I guess another time.

Keisha Regift the Olive Garden card. The best thing there is the salad and breadsticks.

Pam how is single motherhood?

Ed I hope you had an easier drive. Ice is awful to drive on.

Bob glad you are back

Gant we miss you

Mac how are the roads up there?

Mic how is your commute? Could you get out today?

Tony I hope you get things worked out for yourself. Good luck to you and come back whenever you need us.

Morning....still chilly round these parts...no ice melted AT ALL, but the roads are clear, just have to fight a bit to get onto my street

WOOHOO...a little Red Soxer amongst us:cool1: Cool names, Braves and Sox...keep us posted, I love following the little ones baseball exploits...I really do miss it all at times with my boys..fun times for sure

I'm watching Survivor Deena, haven't got all their names down yet. I don't really like that architect woman, she is bossy. At this stage, I usually change my mind a lot as to who I like/dislike. Those snakes on Exile Island are gross:eek: I'll have to go into the Survivior online today and get names and faces more straight......then I'll pick a winner...:rotfl:

Off to the salt mines, but glad it's Friday...I've decided we need every Wednesday off, makes the week more bearable...LOL

More later, love everyone, have good starts to the day...snow people, careful on the roads!!

/
good friday morning test buddies

cold again but it has warmed up to a whopping -4 at this point

i booked my trips and now have to start working regularly.

haven't decided how to inform the family of my plans yet.

keisha, i have never been to an olive garden either. it is one place i really want to try for the salad.

tony, come back home. that is an order.

gant, coffee????? chit chat????

more to say but running out of time. have to leave the house around 7 this morning. need to get to work early.

roads here are kept up well except when the blizzard effects are happening.
all the main roads are done immedicately and when that is ok, the side streets are plowed. when you live where i do, cities have the snow equipment to get through the winters.

school rarely closes here. it's winter. it's chgoland. that's just how it is.

Still swamped here at the workplace. Early closing for us today because of the Holiday on Monday. I hope all of you are doing well. Have a great weekend everyone.

morning all!

it wasn't a bad night last night....got to watch my show and then went to bed fairly early.

Weekend plans?????

mine? you ask:rolleyes:

tonight we are having a party for my niece. She is officially my niece!:cool1: My brother adopted her on monday.

Sat. and Sun. both the boys have basketball so we will be there. I have to work sunday for a few hours then I will be kidless till dave comes home on monday.

Hopefully I can get something down around this house....I have to finish up my taxes so I will most likely do that.

gant--so glad you could drop by! Hope it slows down for you soon!

mic--are you going to get the same cut or something different tomorrow?

mac--have fun at work....it stinks when you have to work doesn't it?!

ocm--what are you and your mom going to do today?

ed--do you have any weekend plans?

bob--how are the plans of moving coming along?

tvt--

ks--is your ds done with basketball yet? he plays baseball doesn't he?

deena--i don't get into survivor. I tried but every time i watch it there is alot of bickering. I listen to it all day and if i am going to sit down and watch tv that is not what i want to listen to.

Have a good friday everyone!

Good Friday, running late:headache: today. Promised DH I'd cook a turkey today:confused3 ; so we'd have food this weekend. Haven't been to the grocery store in nearly a week; poor babies.

Sunday is the opening home game for the RIVER RATS:banana: . DS did well on ESPN, motor-mouth non-stop plug:laughing: . Would be nice if they win a few games (the league has a habit of ditching coaches after a few losses:eek: ); still a good experience/resume builder regardless.

mic/mac (paddywack;) ) - Hope the workday flies by for you both. i did like the salad (especially the dressing) & bread sticks @ OG:thumbsup2 .

pam - Have fun with the taxes, i've still got state & local to file (no refund there, so I wait till the last minute). Basketball is done for the season here. Think we're skipping baseball this year :scared1: . He's been playing on organized teams for 9 years. Has to move up to 'no man's land' where little league doesn't sanction and too young for high school team; resulting in a private, traveling league. It costs over $500 pp to join & they have night games in rough inner city neighborhoods that I don't care to tread in alone when DH has to work:rolleyes1 (been there, done that). Think I'm going to have him practice with the HS tennis team. He can't compete due to WPIAL eligibility rules; but would give him a feel for whether he likes the game on an organized level. He got on my nerves last summer (i'm bored) ;) ; so i signed him up for lessons & he seemed to have a natural aptitude for it. Think the idea of life sports are good. He'd golf every day if he could; another pricey hobby; our HS doesn't offer that sport either - he'd have to go to another school district - we've tabled that idea for a year.

Family gave him an electronic keyboard, now he wants lesson. Not sure whether to investigate that option or not. He tends to get excited about things, then lose interest. He plays drums in the school band, but they don't offer piano.:confused3 Anyone have any experience with this/suggestions for 'low cost' trial lessons?

Anyone else who just can't say no to a brownie/girl scout...i'm going to have cookies coming out of my ears. Specifically only order 1 box I like (Thin Mints:love: )?

Hi all...

No trouble on commute to work, but the ice around here is unbelievable...I guess we had about 4 inches of snow with another 3 or 4 inches of ice on top of it, people can't get rid of it, shovel it or move it as it is still so cold. We need a warm day or two to get stuff outta here.

KS, whatever sport you put ds in, I bet he will do well. Our HS has golf and tennis I believe, which always surprised me for a small community. It's nice he seems to have some natural ability at the sport, that is always a big plus.

I like the Olive Garden, but I always get the same dish, so I can't complain..I love their veal parmasean

Cool on the ESPN interview...like I said, woohoo, a celeb amongst us:banana:

Pam, I've let my hair grown out a good bit, still not long by any means, but longer than what I've been wearing. I have style I've found and love, but I'm just worried about ME fixing it that way, so not sure what I'll let her do. I think if nothing else, I'm keeping the same basic style, just trim it up and clean it up a bit, its getting straggly...plus I need me some color:goodvibes

No real plans for the weekend, heading off to town in the morning for my hair and run errands. I need to straighten up the house some, my ds is coming in the first weekend in March for the surprise party for our aunt who is turning 90. So far, his coming home is a surprise, so we'll see who eventually spills the beans....;) :rotfl: NOT ME, I promise.:cutie:

Morning all :)

Pam -- nothing new so far on the move. Nicole's been too busy with other work stuff to have time to make the phone calls she needs to (to people in London about what positions are available).

Saturday's our busy day -- Cameron has his test for his brown belt (tae kwon do) in the morning and we have our neighborhood bowling night that night. :)

Good luck to Cam

Keisha I am sure that your son will do well in whatever sport. And That is awesome about the ESPN interveiw.

Mac that is very exciting about the trips in Oct. I hope you have a great time.

Mic how exciting about your son coming for the supirse. Very awesome!! Are the babies coming too?

Pam that is awesome about your neice. Congrats. Hope you have a great time at the party

Gant it's good you pop in from time to time for a quickie. You are missed here.

Where is Ed today?

My weekend plans are simple..I'm going to try to keep up with my mom.:rotfl2:

I love her dearly, but the woman does not sit still for 5 minutes. She always has to be doing something. My stepfather is the complete opposite, although, I really can't complain. He has fixed a few things in my house that I needed fixed. Right now, they are both at Nico's school and the girls are at school. I'm catching up on Laundry and returns that I needed to do for gifts.

My brother comes in tomorrow and leaves Sunday night. A whirlwind visit, but at the same time, it's a good amount. He did the same thing Thanksgiving weekend. I like him in doses. Too much of him is not a good thing.:rotfl:

Nico has ice skating tomorrow morning. I think my mom wants to go to Stone Mountain, the Circus, the children;s museam, and anything else she can possibly fit into the three days she has here. I was telling Pam, I need a vacation when she leaves.:rolleyes1

My mom is leaving Monday and my MIL is coming Friday. She will leave on Sunday sometime, but that is perfect for me.:thumbsup2 I haven't told my kids, just in case they decide at the last minute not to come. But Nico will be thrilled. He adores Lee's mom (probably because she will buy him anything he wants) and he really doesn't see her often. maybe two to three times a year.

Good Morning all.
Deena the Red Sox and Braves thats great. I'm actually going to see them play a Friday night in May at Fenway, it will be my boys first trip.

ocm - enjoy your housefull of beloved family:banana: ; can't remember that old saying about fish & company; but something about...

after 3 days it's time to get rid of both of them;)

who's feeling more eloquent than me today - help.lol; mark twain perchance?

mic - What color is your hair now? my MIL almost made it to 90; they're long-lived on my DHs side; very few of my relatives made it long enough to collect social security:eek: too much hard working/living I suppose. Hope I break that mold. I've been slacking off on treadmill time the last few days.

pam & ed - just reading you two talk baseball gives me hope of an early spring.:wizard:

mac - don't forget to keep me posted if your rate drops @ HRH...wonder if they usually have AP rates for June. Think I'll go ahead & buy my tix & just upgrade one if need be; afraid they'll discontinue that $85 deal before I snag it.

bob -local news had a clip on of our old weatherman interviewing someone outside in the brutal weather your way...all the while some big old fool was running circles around him in nothing but a pair of boxer shorts...ewww. Did you see it?

No, I missed that -- probably a good thing, I think! :scared: :scared: :lmao:

Keisha get back on that treadmill!!! ;)

I guess my mom decided to spend the entire day at Nico's school. I thought she was going to come home around 12:30, but maybe this is keeping her more busy than being at my house. Hey, whatever gives me a few minutes to relax is good for me:thumbsup2

Mic I'm sure your hair will look fabulous after you get it done. It looked great the times I've met up with you.

Ed the baseball game sounds like a blast.:thumbsup2

I have nothing planned for dinner tonight. Keisha can I send my clan to you for turkey?

ed--the ball game sounds very fun. I think we may try to go to a diamondbacks game when we go to AZ this summer. Unless we change our vacation yet again.

bob--good luck to cam!! I know he will do good!:thumbsup2

I may be staying home tonight after all. they are talking about freezing rain...i'm not driving out of town if that is the case. I'll play it by ear to see what happens.
