WOW!!! That sounds like a great time! A MK view would be fantastic. I've never stayed at CR.

Nope, no trips planned. We only recently moved to the East coast. Living in Las Vegas, we always went to Disneyland (4 hours away). We've gone to WDW 3 times though, plus 2 DCL cruises. Now that we are on this side of the country, we'll have to plan a WDW trip soon! I really want to go, but we are too poor right now. :guilty:
We've been splurging this year, squeezing DVC points & AP's:banana: .

Half-heartedly planning a potential DL/Vegas/Grand Canyon trip that DH wants to take. We've been surprised w/the hotel deals lately around DL & on the strip. He was stationed in San Diego & has no desire to see anything but DL. We both shudder @ the thought of driving in the traffic from LAX, told John Wayne is better for traffic concerns.

What do you think about the logistics of flying into DL for a 4 days, driving to vegas for 3 or 4 more with a side trip to Grand Can? (seems like a whole lotta driving to me...I'm told it's doable???)

Yep, it's doable. Vegas is about 4 - 4 1/2 hours from Disneyland. Not sure how far the GC is from Vegas. We never went! :)

deena - happy birthday to your boy!:cake: He sounds like a great young man, lucky to have such a generous mom:thumbsup2 . Curious, will he be able to get away from school to go on the dis trip/member cruise with y'all (I'm practicing my southern today:teeth: )

No he isnt going with us. He didnt want to miss a week of his classes. I offered to fly him down that Friday afternoon (he only had 1 morning class on Friday) but he said no. It will be our first trip without him and Im going to miss him not being there, and so is my 16 yr old.

If we all enjoy the cruise I will probably book one out of Galveston maybe next summer so he can do that with us.

My 2 older sons have quit most family vacations due to school & work schedules...I think of them constantly when we're away, nice memories as to what things they liked to do/visit on vacation but, makes me feel guilty to away w/o them...DH thinks I'm nutz LOL.

Morning all.......what, no one is going to church?? :confused3 Better hope mac is, cause she always looks out for all of us :goodvibes

KS, I can't believe your dh isn't listening about that thumb...he will be sorry and it will take twice as long to heal.

All the trips to Disney sound exciting. BBG, I love DL although we've only been 3 times....it is unique all by itself. Have fun at the movies today.

Deena, glad Michael and had a happy birthday :cool1: Dinner sounded good and his gifts even better! Nice he got something fun and useful too. Oh my, your cruise will be creeping up soon...you are gonna love it!! The two little guys will have so much fun. It's rough when insurance stops. I know even for us losing our dental/vision it was an adjustment after all these years being covered. Plus our health coverage that was to be free til 65, the company reneged and the union bought into it, and in January we each have to pay a portion of it......still cheap, but not as cheap as FREE :sad2:

I'm not sure what we are doing today...I just got up  I had woke up around 7 and went back to sleep. I was having this dream that I had left work and couldn't get back, and didn't want them to know how long I'd been gone...so when I woke up I figured it was 8:30.....well it was 9:45...no wonder I was dreaming I couldn't get back to work...I slept another 3 hrs!! Weird....but I guess I'm rested :teeth:

Off to see if dh wants to take a trip to town...promise him dinner out and he'll go for it..........I feel like Outback and they have take out, so that would be good........I love their Queensland Salad......yum....I don't like eating inside there, no place is worth a couple hours of waiting for me.

BBL........have a good day friends

ed - wow, what great vac. pics:thumbsup2 , bet you had a blast!

mic - what's in a queensland salad @ outback? Don't think I've ever noticed it on menu, usually too busy salivating over which steak/ribs I'll choose. Not sure if I'm getting less adventurous in my tastes but, think they're seasoning got kicked up a notch last time...pretty spicey IMO.

pam - sorry to hear about your 'puter, have fun @ the fair. We saw a camel today @ ours, then it rained...again, my garage is leaking from somewhere (think the ground is saturated - I hope).

Hi Pam....oh dear, sorry backup computer when on the fritz too :guilty: we miss you, so call and rattle some chains at the computer urgent care place :thumbsup2 Whew, glad someone headed out to church and is seeing we are covered for the week......thanks Pam :goodvibes

Ed, awesome pictures and awesome ship!! :sunny: I can see why you had such fun, and the family photos are great. Love Conner in the nappy hat :rotfl:. Thanks for sharing! So remind me of what cruise line that was and exactly where you visited. It's hard to believe that all that "stuff" is on a ship and it floats!!

KS...a Queensland Salad first of all is pretty huge...but it is a lettuce salad with tomatoes, bacon, chopped hard boiled egg, croutons and topped with chunky chicken salad and sliced almonds. It is very, very good. I'm with you, the chicken salad has a "bite" to it, so they spice it up. It is really good and to be honest, if you want an appetizer or whatever, 2 people could make share it, it is a generous portion. It is like $10.50. Also get a little loaf of the dark bread and butter to go along with it. I dished out some of it once we got home, and think I'll save the rest for later. I just had a hankering for it, so we called it in, and by the time we got there, it was ready. DH got the crab cakes and made himself sandwiches when we got home.

Well, now that I've eatten, got to put this stuff away. Uncle Sam and Uncle Wally were glad to see us today.....I never get out of either of those places for a few $$.

BBL for sure........ :wave2:

I NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM, I WANT A DRINK OF WATER...I WANT ANOTHER COVER....SCOOT OVER.......oops, sorry mac, you said to go to sleep and be quiet.......I will listen and go right to sleep now.

Ed, great photos!!! You and the boys are such handsome dudes!! Looks like so much fun, what nice memories you will have from that trip. Love the pic of Uncle Jimmy and the boys.......(love the little guys t-shirt too :lovestruc ). You all look wonderful! Thanks again for sharing...I'm like mac, share some more......I love looking at them.

Muffy, how about those dumb Dora's on BBrother? Those two girls each need to grow a brain and stop sharing one!! Those guys are SOOO playing them...I'd like to see one of those guys go this week just to show them they ain't as smart as they think they are :p

Ok, mac has said it's time to retire......so I think I will

IT'S MORNING TIME.........WHERE IS TONY THE TIGER THIS MORNING????

one last fling at the yard sale.

catch you later tonight.

and, don't forget to watch the parades.
we have one in our small town and a carny thingy.

hope you all have a great labor day.

Another salute to labor day!

We're still surrounded by fog, creepy, can't see my dogs in the back yard. I know they're there, can hear them barking.:rolleyes1 Whenever my neighbors have one of their racuous, greet the dawn, parties on the patio, I make sure to let my pups out nice & early.

I'm so ashamed of myself - NOT!
I try to be unfailiingly polite, making small talk, etc... but, they're the most ignorant self-absorbed people I know. Litany of incidents (tree cutting 10 feet from property line incident where they neglected to inform us that we might want to move our vehicle; several violation of building codes, attempt to run a business with multi fleet vehicles blocking alley & taking up all on-street parking for block). Now they've got a very large travel trailer permanently parked in front of house where they let their friends crash after the parties.

So sick of treking over to their door asking to have the vehicle of the day, removed from the front of our driveway. Think they'd catch on after awhile:confused3

On bright note is most of my neighbors are retired & have nothing better to do than "police" them...I get to be the good guy.

other than vent on my happless neighbor ;) , think I'll wash my hair (another scintillating day @ my house)...how about you?

cool idea...pencil me in as giddy

ooooo, thank you! :)

We're too poor to do anything, after getting the kids some school clothes yesterday. School starts tomorrow for them! They're nervous!

We're going to stay home today, so I'm going to read a novel out on the deck and just relax!

my youngest DS started 8th grade last monday, lucked out & didn't have to get him much for school - he's not much of a clothes horse. Figure I'll wait a few months to get new jeans since he's grown out the ones I bought last spring. Nice thing about athletic wind-pants he prefers, the fit is much more forgiving.

I've got 2 older boys too, one 26 going to get married this Dec (Head Coach for new Arena football league & HS team, night supervisor @ orphanage) & the other is 20 (graduated police academy-waiting for 1st hire, working security & coaching HS football)...not that I'm proud or anything
wink.gif

feel free to tell us all about your family.

Wow, big age difference in your kids, huh? Sounds like they are all doing amazingly well! I didn't realize there were still orphanages anymore! :confused3 I thought it was all group homes.

My kids: Heather (12, almost 13) 7th grade, Caitlin (9) 4th grade, and Ainslee (5) Kindergarten. Heather is actually my stepdaughter, but her mom has NO relationship with her (not even a card or phone call on birthdays or Christmas). So I consider her my daughter, and she calls me mom.
