It was very hard to keep the secret and I don't know how many times we almost blew it! All of our friends/family knew we were going and they all were great about covering for us.
They thought we were going to spend a few days in Kansas City so they didn't really think about us packing...it was so funny because when we got to the airport Noah--who was 7, said "look an airport, should we go there and fly to florida? We were laughing so hard. Then when we were in the parking lot we told them that it was our hotel parking lot....they totally believed us! Here is the picture of them when we told them where we were really going!

Hi Everyone

I just got back to DC from the mountains. The plan originally was to leave right from the mountains to go back, until my aunt said, "What is the rush? Why do you even want to go back?"

She has a point. So, I have no idea when I am leaving. I won't be on much at all while I'm here.

I may go stay at my Aunt's a few nights and my cousin Sarah's. I will try to get the kids over to see the outlaws one night before I leave.

I staill haven't decided about Sammie staying without me. She seems to be warming up very slowly to my mom, but not so much to my stepfather. It still takes a half hour to 45 minutes in the morning before I can put her down without her screaming. So, I may end up taking her back with me.

I have gotten quite a few "talks" about my life from my family. You know, I was raised by so many people that I have several mothers. It's all very postive and in the end, "everyone makes mistakes" it's how you handle them.

I'm hanging out to try to learn all I can about their thoughts and opinions. Some ideas I can follow, others I won't, but it's very good for me to hear and learn all about what my family thinks. Sometimes I think they know me better than I know myself. :thumbsup2

Love you all..talk to you soon.

Oh one more thing, my brother Joe took Nico to do a reading test. Sylvan Learning Center tested Nico to see what grade level he was reading on. Good for his teacher's to know next year for kindergarten.

Anyway, he is reading between a 2nd and 3rd grade reading level. 2.9 was his level which means he is closer to 3rd grade, or at the end of second.

I'm not really sure what this will mean in terms of school next year. Here in DC he can test into a grade higher, they can't do that backhome.

If nothing else, I know what books to buy him and challenge him with.

The time I spent with him in May I could tell that he was a very bright kid...That'a boy Nico!! :thumbsup2

I do have something important to say:

Anyone else a PeeWee Herman fan?:) They put his 1/2 hour show on the 'toon channel (cartoon network) adult swim @ 11:00 p.m.

Laughed myself silly last night, youngest DS doesn't "get it" or the secret word gag.

I'm done now:banana: , this whole pic pasting thing could get outta control.
