mac - I've got bar keep stories that would curl your hair...

once I had 2 ex boyfriends & potential suitor (DH) all sitting in different corners@ the bar. At the end of the night, they were all buds & swaping "war" stories.:smokin:

another time a psycho started tossing lit matches across the bar @ me (this was the big hair era - I easily could have gone up in smoke;) ).

did have unofficial bouncers to keep the peace...we were always told to use the gun in the cash register instead of calling the police - god forbid they'd be sited as a nuisance bar. No, I never touched the piece or called the cop'ers either.

Believe it or not this was a "nice" bar in a relatively decent area. Most of the trouble came from transient customers, usually the bar was all regulars. Sure wouldn't put myself in that position in this day & age.

Ok, who's up to reveal their crappy job story????

keisha !!

that is a kewl super story.....tell us more.......

my only interesting stories are about my offspring......and then it is only humorous if you have been thru it before.

like the time david called the abuse hot line as he was sent to his room.
he was 8 at that time.

and then came the investigation...............

Family stories........hmmm...veddy, veddy interesting....

Ok, confession, I forgot to tape AI last night while at the ballgame, thought of it after the fact.........did I miss much? I'm still torqued about Chris anyway, so poo-poo on the final three....they will rehash it all tonight for sure anyway, gotta fill that 5 hr. time slot they will probably give it  :rotfl2: Big Brother All-Stars is coming up, plus another Rock Star (I think) and Rescue Me starts again later this month, so I'll be doing the  dance. Summer TV viewing at its finest.......maybe I'll be able to catch up with all the old movies I've DVR'd once summer get's here and not much is on the tube......

Speaking of tubes.. :teeth: who here remembers those things being in a TV or radio? I bet only 2 of us do.........and I can just hear Momma's reply when she gets back from down south and reads this....... :teeth:

I think Pam has herded the kids up and run away from home :wave2:

rescue me back on this summer....?? woo hoo. my nights will be filled with it...

tube.......yea, just you and me mic know what a tube is. do you remember when they called them idiot boxes and electronic babysitters?

momma will think tube means something you wear. tube top

i wager a nickel on that one with you mic. are you on?
and that's when a nickel bought something..............maybe......

i'll be in front of the TUBE tonight for AI.

wow, next week will be the finals.

i wonder who will go home? i think either elliot or kat will

Having missed AI last night, no predictions on who will go home until I see the recaps of the recaps of the recaps..... :teeth: honestly, if I was just guessing, I would say Elliott will go, just because sweet cheeks is a favorite and so is gray hair....... ;)

Yep, I can only imagine what momma's definition of a tube is... :rotfl2:

Ok, I'm about dead this evening, so I'm off to fold some clothes and then recline in from of the TV...........

My Dad always called TV the *oob tube, not sure if he meant the folks who watch it or the bimbos.

funny story mac, acquaintance's (who works as a PT in a hospital) son fell down @ the zoo when he was a toddler, kept fussing so they took him to ER where mom worked to be checked out. Evidently, he broke his back! Had to go into a full body cast & mom got to be supervised by CYS for a few years. What a horror story all around.

Youngest DS hurt his foot in football practice almost 2 years ago. We took him to ER & they determined he had a mild open head injury (not a concussion - slight difference) and they X-ray'ed his foot - said it was sprained. He kept saying it hurt, so they did another X-ray a month later, it too was negative & pediatrician cleared him.

The next year during practice, foot hurt again. Took him back to same ER, they decided he did have a fracture from the 1st injury that never healed. After many invasive tests & specialists later, it was determined that he actually developed a rather rare disease in his foot (fielbergs that occurs when the bone develops necrosis - dies, after an untreated fracture/break). Of course, it just happens to be his growth plate - we're hoping it will resolve w/conservative treatment & custom orthotics.

Specialist @ Children's Hospital suggested that I start documenting treatment just in case. WTH!!!! Understand there are a lot of abused kids but, that would have been the last thing I needed to deal with @ the time. Just waiting for a phone call, I'll give them an ear-full.

that's really sad keisha.
we have been in the same boat also.
son went to hospital and was 15. nothing but headaches.
when son was 19 and had cut his leg, same headache but this time he was of age.

blech.........no one believes parents are innocent until investigated.

ok, it is taylor/gray hair guy and kat koo koo going on to the finals in ai

Blech on Idol...........ya know, after hearing Elliot sing tonight after getting voted off, he seemed more relaxed and although everything he croons is not my cup of tea, he CAN sing, and I think he is miles above Taylor (all that jumping around drives me nuts) or Kat. And the boy LOVES his mother, isn't that refreshing to see, and seems really greatful for how far he has come, with little ego coming into play.

Did you hear Ryan when he was first chatting with Taylor, he said something like "are you ready for next week"...heck the one time I want to listen again and I deleted the tape....anyhoot, I thought right then he is moving on and Ryan made a boo-boo....and yes, Kat should have been happy, but I think her stupid face when they showed her after Elliot got the boot was a little too gleeful, and her mother acts like a snob.......I've seen other contestants who give a sigh of relief for making it through, but have tears in their eyes for the person voted off..........anyway, don't really care who gets it, neither of them does it for me, but I really dislike peaches/sweet cheeks the most, so I guess it will have to be Taylor..........

Yes, parents today walk a fine line with disciplining their kids or explaining a bump or bruise...its a whacko world we live in........

Night my peeps...hope all goes well for ya mac........ :grouphug:

Hey all yuck on Kat making it.

Here is why its taking me longer to get to work now:

OH MY GOODNESS..........
stay home
don't go to work

ed, i think it would be safer if you rode a bicycle to work this week.

it is easier to manuever and chances are you won't fall into one of those holes.

Morning, catch ya later...but W@@WZER, that is some road damage Ed...please be careful while out and about!! Mother Nature at her finest

>>>>>>>>>>>>>> :moped:

beware nature's fury!

not to open a religious can of worms here but, our local news this am had a story on Billy Graham. The clip had him saying that God came to him in a dream & "...if he heard him right..." the US is due for massive storms this year. He specified the east & west coast - indicating that North west could get hit w/a tsunami. Hope he was having a bad dream.

talk about hedging your bets! If God ever decides to talk to me, I'm going to listen closely - maybe even take notes. I'll even start a new thread about it.

On to the important stuff...Kat is really grating on my last nerve. We liked Taylor from the get-go but, never thought he had a snowball's chance...me thinks the deck is stacked.

I tried to vote for the 1st time this week, could not get thru & I've got Cingular - text message wouldn't register either - it's a sham!:stir:

Still raining buckets here, let up enought for Pirates to beat the Reds yesterday - shocking!

Youngest DS is off to a academic competition today @ Duquesne University, then on to Kennywood (hope he wins & sky parts long enough to ride the Thunderbolt).

Hope you all have a nice, dry day!

good morning friends.

it is now

aka optional day in these parts...

now where is our little momma to celebrate it...........it's her fave :rolleyes1

Gray hair???? I resemble that remark! ;) And make it 3 on the thread who remembers tubes in TV's. Ed, I absolutely hate floods. I feel for those whose homes were affected. The cleanup is the pits.

Yeah, work has been hoppin' here. Didn't get out for stripers on Tuesday because the boat wouldn't start. I guess it was a sign. Will be trying again next Tuesday. Little DS's team had a game yesterday (a 13-4 loss) but he got the game ball for his hitting and all the kiddies got ice cream so all was good.

Hope you all have a great day.

mic--did you get enough sleep last night?!

mac--how you feelin' today?

ks--hope your ds does good!

I am having Malarie come over and watch the kids today so I can go to Noah's awards ceremony at school. Then after that I will come back and pick up Aubrey and take her to her pizza party for her school. It is all my kids last day of school today! They are so excited....they keep singing the no more teachers song! I have to say that I am kinda excited about it too....i get to sleep in an extra 40 minutes :teeth: that means that I get 40 more minutes of beauty sleep which I need WAY more than 40 extra minutes a day, but what's a girl to do?!?! :confused3  :teeth:

Have a good thursday everyone! Hey do you suppose I should follow the test rules and go to Noah's school nekkid? Naw, I would scar those poor little boys for life!!! :sad2:

Wow, Pam gets an extra 40 minutes beauty rest x how many days the kids are out on summer break.......waaaahhhhhhhhh..she'll be prettier than the rest of us......waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh....its not fair...MOMMMMMMMMM...Pam is cheating......... ;) :teeth:

I got caught up a little on my sleep last night, but I sure could use an extra couple more just for the heck of it......guess I'll get it on the weekend, although I always seem to wake up at my usual time

Bob, enjoy your basketball, I'm not a fan of it, but I can see how it would be exciting watching for you as its your "team"... :cheer2:

Adam, who was messin' with your boat motor when you were looking for strippers?? ;) :rolleyes1 hope the next outing goes better...and little dude may have suffered a loss, but heck, ice cream soothes everyone's soul :cool1:

KS...if God ever spoke to me...you can bet I'd be listening :listen: full tilt ;)

Looks like we might be getting a super soaking here too, it is really cloudy today and its a 40% chance...

Guess we had to be the one's to let the O's break their losing streak, and a FORMER Sox player wins the game........I do like Kevin though, so I won't be too mad at him........FOR WINNING THE DAMMM GAME :furious:

well, the prettiest girl here will have her kids home full time come later today! that's a trade off.

we get out of school june 9...........good for me, bad for the kids.
