Yes you should mac, so all the Oprah lovers can come forward and tell you how wrong you are...... ;) :rotfl:

I really don't care for her, she has become to full of herself and feels because it is her opinion, it should be yours.....another celebrity that has let success and $$ go to her head.....

See you people later...I'm gone for the day........

Hey Everyone,

Off to Nico's soccer game today. 8:30 for soccer pics and 9am game. I'll check back in later. Hope you all have a good Sat.

Mac - I'm sorry to hear Oprah isn't as nice in person.

good morning and good luck nico

going to the city later to get the kid.
spring break has sprung for him

where i work its the last week of this month

hope you all have a swell weekend.

I will be scarce this weekend kiddo's. My friend Candice and I are going to a weekend crop. It started last night but I didnt go, today its all day and tomorrow most of the day. Im hoping to get caught up some (Im so behind! ).

Morning all!

I'm headed out too...got to get the little girly girl to tumbling...then off to lincoln for a fun filled day! :rolleyes2 Love spending money on glasses!

Have a good day all...i'll check back in when we get home!! :sunny:

Gonna be a be-u-ti-ful day in Pittsburgh!

Already picked up DS from a sleep-over; indoor baseball practice is next.

Think I'll slink off to tanning bed instead of watching yet another scintilating practice :sunny: - enjoy the weekend.

Well, we all know I was raised catholic, but my mom still practices..infact, she is highly religious. Mass everyday, no meat on Fridays, and for lent, she gave up going out to eat. (THANKS MOM) So, I have been cooking for her.

Does lent count when you are on vacation? :confused3

I gave up potato chips

My DH is not Catholic & abides by the house rules during lent...said he feels guilty eating meat in front of several pairs of accusing eyes.

IMO, occasional abstinence/sacrifice is good for your soul. That said, I don't think God really cares if you lapse on vacation (even though they've got good Salmon in Orlando
wink.gif
). Your Mom could always double/catch up when she gets back home.

I'm old enough to remember when we didn't eat meat on Fridays - period (good way to stretch the food budget) and had to wear babushkas on our heads to church.

At best, I'm a cafeteria Catholic but, try to instill their teachings in my own children. They've got a swell lot in life, the idea of sacrifice is good for them to digest/reflect IMO.

I'm giving up 10lbs. Well, I was going to give up 10lbs, my body is insisting on keeping them.

Anyway, she just informed me that she will go out to eat tomorrow, as apparently she observes Sundays as a day off. However, growing up in her house, when my brothers and I explained that you get Sundays off, she told us that was absurd. God didnt take days off.

I swear, my mom has changed drastically. We werent allowed to wear jeans to church, even though we told her God didnt care what we looked like. Now, on weekday masses, she is in Jeans. There was no "cheat days" during lent, now she hads her cheat days. Rosery had to get said every night at bed time, now she does hers every morning while doing her yoga.

I wonder if my brothers know how much she has changed. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she is more flexible than she used to be. She is the Director of Reilgious Education for a catholic church. So, she is still very very catholic. But, it's nice to see her loosen up a bit on the rules. :woohoo:

I'm back..........then I'm out again...........everyone have a wonderful day :cool1:

hmmmmmmmmm...I'm not Catholic, but I'm game.........I'll give up 10 lbs. too......who wants them :teeth: :lmao:

back home from chicago.......whew.....such traffic the big st. paddy parade is today and grant park is packed......so good to be back home for awhile.

yea, i started the give up 10 lbs thing for lent. think i will change it to 20 now. i grew up in a catholic town but not catholic. learned a lot of catholic jokes but won't say them, its not nice to do that......... and i am a nice girl......

thought you had to be catholic & irish (i'm a little of both) to live in Chicago...or was that to get a government job there.

Bought my corned beef/cabbage for St. Paddy's day - could have got steak for the same price.

Spring break already, wow!

everyone is irish in chgo land on st paddy celebration day.

they even turn the water green on this day............its really neat.
whenever i get that digital camera i want, i will take a pic of it for you to see.

i love corn beef and cabbage.............yum

i'm from downstate illinois
moved to chgo when i married.

it feels like i have married all my life !!
especially if you add the 2 of them up

forget the water, gimmie a green beer, or better yet a Corona (with a lemon, not a lime).

whip out that Universal rewards CC, just think of the points you'd earn for next trip home.

i'm not one to dwell on my mistakes - which #1 most certainly qualifies as...let's just say I'd be past the silver one.

you are young ocm, there is still hope for you...........

first time, marry for love

all others after that is for money........
so in my case, i guess this means i have to go for three.

I think I mixed up the order of the marriage rules. :rotfl2:

No seriously, there isnt much hope for me. I have 3 kids. That would be a lot for someone else to take on. I'm a PITA all on my own, let alone three little people too.

hey, if you mixed up the order then you have the keeper now.

in 12 years, nico will be away at college.
scary isn't it..........

i hate thinking that far ahead.
