hey guys here is the SCOOP of the year and it ain't good....

i was reading mousesavers.com and just was shocked.

quite a few of you have the annual pass and what mary posted is not good at all but still a tad sketchy.

here is what disney released today.
starting june 17 a new program for the ap holders, called, Passholder best Rate Program.

for check ins to wdw starting oct 8, 2005....
ap holders must book their rooms ONLINE ONLY. (or can use a travel agent)
the ressie must be made 120 days in advance
one night stay plus tax must be paid when the ressie is made
ap holder may only book 1 room only. the ability to book 3 rooms with the ap rate will be gone oct 8.
people will no longer be able to buy the ap voucher first and wait until they get to disney to activate it. must have the ap number when you make the ressie if you are trying for the ap discount

no ap rates have been released for anytime after oct 4. mary stated there might not be any ap discounts after that.

if you have an ap and were planning on booking rooms for after oct 8 of this year, or next year, you best do it now.........

it is a gamble to book ap rate and then hope the discount is good. or should you book the AAA rate and get the 20% when you book.

if you book ap, cancel then book AAA, you might not be able to get the ap if you are less than 120 days out.

go to marys site and read it . it is on the first page, first line.

surely more will come later as this was released about a hour ago.

OH MY!!!

yoo hoo, ocm......we both posted at the same time and with an "oh my"

we must be twins.........

hey what do you think of that new passholder best rate program......suxs

Um..I just read it and yes it totally sucks!! I almost just wnat to say screw it and go when I know i can still get the discount and the dinning plan.

This is no good no good at all. See, Lee and I are suppose to go for our anniversary which is Aug 13th. So, we would just miss the dinning plan, but that was ok. Then, maybe wait and just celelbrate all the kids bdays in Oct. But, now :confused3

just reread the mousesaver statement.

the night stay you pay in advance is nonrefundable.
if you stay there, that down payment goes towards your room bill.

supposively, the ap holder will receive the best rate available for the time you will be there. it might be deeply discounted or not. too soon to know at this point since the program started today.

when i said you have to make the ressie on line, you have to go to wdw/passholder section for your ressie, or to a travel agent to do it.

well.........i don't think this is a good thing. the part i don't like is having to make the ressie 120 days out. what if you decide a couple months prior, then looks like you can't get the best rate program.......

what do all of you think?

i know i am not getting the ap now.

you and lee can use the ap in august.
the program affects all who make plans for oct 4 and after. unless i read that wrong, i thought you could do a summer stay there if the ap rate was available.

unless the discounts are so deeply discounted, i really doubt i would buy an ap again. i did for two years but not this year.

I was also reading that AP stuff, but it really doesn't effect me as I don't buy them............wow, Disney is always doodling around with something.....

Momma, you gave Lee a present already?? WOOHOO.....s - u - r - e....we all are buying the "I gave him a Sony TV".................... :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

Sorry you are cleaning, you have my sympathies..... :rotfl2: what an awful way to spend you day.................and for what...........the outlaws....but at least you will be making a good impression on them.... ;) :flower: :earboy2:

deena, you might hear more about this new program when you are down there.

i will check the other websites the next few days and pass on what ever i hear.

deena, so glad you got your oct rooms already.
i hope the rest of your group has them also.

Here is what I think. From what I understand, AP holders are getting the best price available to the public. Well, if it is available to the public, why in the heck would I book that far in advance a non refnundable night to get the same rate as someone who is booking 4 days out? :confused3

No, I dont think I will be booking on that rate and I forgot about the group rate. Now I need to go back and change my Wilderness Lodge rate to the group rate, and pray I can still get that at the discount.

It's all good. I am having Lee go with them to Super Walmart tomorrow and letting them buy my groceries. See, they took Julies car seat that I need for Sammie and they are keeping it to give his brother/cousin for their baby. So, they said they woudl buy us a new one..well, since they are going to walmart anyway, I made a small list (front and back) of other "needs" :rotfl:

No seriously, I would have gone and gotten all the stuff myself, but I had to clean my house :rolleyes1

And uh yeah..I think Lee is going for a record is days the wind blows here. I guess he liked his gift. :rotfl2:

Like I said, Disney is always screwing around.....think.....they like to be in the drivers seat and make $$....take it from someone who REALLY knows this company a little bit..........and I can't see how this program is benefiting anyone but Disney. You can bet your bibby that AP holders are going to be raising cain over this...........I can only imagine the posts will soon start flying...........

We did a leisure group booking. You need to book atleast 10 rooms to get that discount and we did--we actually have 11 :) . The value and mod rates were good but the deluxes werent all that great but I guess some discount is better than no discount.

COOL....make that Super Wal-Mart list a little longer, and maybe they will be gone all the daylight hours, and then you can say they need to go to bed right after dinner, and won't have to entertain them too much............ :earboy2:

Right! Actaully, since it is just the two of us we really wanted to stay at Celebrations...BUT, the Tampa Buccs take over that hotel for their training from like the end of July - late Aug which is his bday and our anniversary and the only time we dont have the kids. So, i think we are going to stay at an Epcot resort.

Good thinking. They are also at some point suppose to take the kids to chuck e cheese..another YAY!! So, really I dont think it will be too bad this time.

See, getting an AP was something I had considered as I no longer have my "perks", because AP holders usually got better discounts on rooms that we did as CM's.........so now that is screwed also............ I'm really glad that for now my friend still works there and can help me out when we go down...............I'm telling you, its getting so you can't afford a Disney vacation............of course I'm spoiled from 10 yrs. of riding the gravy train............ ;)

You are too good at this!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Lee is now at the airport picking them up. I just really hope they dont come in and wake up my babies. One time, they came here at 2:30am and woke ths kids up. I was sooo aggitated. But, like I said, hopefully, they will be here and gone and all I will have to do is let them take me out to dinner. :rotfl2:
