Maybe Adam lost his pants and is afraid to come and play now...LOL...

I would never be afraid to come and play on this thread....even if I did lose my pants.

Anyway, I get down to Atlantic City at about 1:00 PM or so. Registered for the tournament and was then told the rules. Nothing like on TV at all. This is a "once you lose to the dealer, you're out" kinda thing. The object was to be the lone remaining person at your particular table (7 people). That means everyone but you has to lose to the dealer. Then, when/if you are the lucky one, you play the dealer head to head. The person who wins the most hands against the dealer, without losing, wins the $5,000.

The 1st hand at my table the dealer busted so everyone was still in. The 2nd hand the dealer had blackjack and since nobody else had a blackjack (a tie goes to the player and counts as a win) everyone was still alive. The third had everyone was dealt a 9 or 8 except for me. I got a 3. The dealer was showing a face card. Everyone's 2nd card was a 10 except for me. She dealt me an 8. I took a hit and caught a ten for 21. Now, everyone at the table had either 18 or 19 with the dealer showing a face card and me sittin pretty with a 21. I kindly asked the dealer to turn over a face card and when she did, everyone but me was eliminated. Then it was my turn to face the dealer and I won the 1st 2 hands but then lost the 3rd one. The overall winner had won 12 hands to win the $5,000. But, what I didn't know was that each individual table winner got $50.

So, I got a complimentary room with a jacuzzi (it helps to schmooze the front desk ladies to get upgrades), A free entry into the tournament and 50 bucks to boot. Let's just say I had a nice dinner and a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi compliments of the Hilton family. All in all a nice trip but too long to drive into work this morning. I'm kinda beat so I hope you don't mind me skipping over breakfast this morning.

I hope everyone who is not feeling well gets it all out of your systems to bring in the new year healthy.

That sounds like a really good time. My mom used to go to the slot machine tourney's in Vegas. She did win 5,000 once and one another time as well.
Was Paris there to hand you a towl as you emerged from your jacuzzi??
Ed that totally sucks coming home to no heat. Though Im confident you found some way to keep warm

I hope you all are having a good day. I am going to A Southern Christmas tonight with my family. It is at Stone Mountain and it is suppose to have all kinds of activities for kids. So, it sounds like fun.

After this I think we are done entertaining groups of people. It is a lot of work!! LOL!

ed--don't you just hate when your heat runs out! my mom and dad use propane heat and the first year they ran their gas fireplace they ran out in half of the time--the woke up in the morning and it was 40 degrees in their house--so i know exactly how you feel!
mac--i am sooo glad you feel better!
m4g-what is quiet??? isn't it nice to sit and have a breath until your other kids come back?
ocm--when does your family leave? did you have a nice chat with a normal perosn? well if you can call him normal!

Pam, it is nice to stay home when you've literally been running around for over a month almost everyday....(I went to the Post Office and Bank today, isn't that a fun way to re-enter the "outside world"...lol)

of course, all the junk in that room has been moved to another room. maybe tomorrow that room will see me............

Hey Pam - I am sorry I missed you today!! Everything will be a bit more normal on Friday. My family is leaving pretty early in the morning for the long drive home. My mom is coming back in Jan, but it will be just her...so I am looking forward to that.
