Pam, hope the sicky stuff passes quickly and the rest of you don't come down with it...

So, my tests yesterday showed more problems with my stomach, esophagus area then what has been hurting I had some polyps removed, I do have diverticulitis and I do have the hiatel hernia as suspected and also some weird thing called a Schatzski's ring, and mine is highly inflamed from acid reflux. He put me on a strong prescription (sorta like Prilosec but not that one) and I go back in 4 weeks, and maybe at 8 weeks, I will have to have my esophagus stretched where this "ring" is. All is caused by the acid reflux...so oh joy...... I had a great anesthetist and I dropped right off to sleep and never felt a thing...thankfully. I did get after the nurse when after 3 tries she couldn't start the IV in my hand...I told her 'you've stuck me enough and you are not sticking me 50 times"...I finally showed them my 'good' vein and another nurse got a line in it first time. They never seem to think we know our own bodies I guess.

Anyway, it is all 'behind' me now.... can you imagine having that job everyday?? although I'm sure the pay ain't bad.....no sore throat or anything today from the scoping down the throat, so all in all, it wasn't so bad...the unknown is what makes it scary.

Ok, today is about done thankfully.....time to head home

Good evening peeps! Just checking in. Last practice for soccer was tonight. Asher has 2 games left. One on Thursday (under the lights) a rare treat for the younger kids, and one on Saturday (followed by the year end pizza party). Asher has chosen not to play basketball so it looks like I have the winter off for the 1st time in I don't know how many years!

Mic, I hope you get better with the new treatment. Acid reflux is a pain in the butt!

Pam, hope the kiddies aren't too sick and make a fast recovery.

Mic and Ed.... congrats on the BoSox Championship! They really deserved it this year.

Bob, sounds like the kids are all set. Hope they get a ton of candy....and brush their teeth every day.

mic, i am familiar with a few of your medical problems.
mom has diverticulitis, so does my mil.

brother and father have the hiatel hernia. one had to have the surgery for it the other changed his diet and used meds. that brother was recovering from radiation for cancer treatment and didn't want the surgery for the hernia.

it took him about 9 months to get his problem under control. the dad who had the surgery, well, 6 months later, it was not effective.


if your doc says surgery, get a second opinion. if you go on a very bland, no salt or season or spice diet, the acid reflux could calm down.

back feelin fine, finished decorating

youngest DS complained of "stuffed up" ear for last few days, today said it hurt; got him into the pediatrician after skool (ladies you know what this entails ; waited a looooong time; glad we did). Poor jrs ears so clogged w/wax dr had to dig it out, thought i would faint @ the unpleasant sight. Dr. impressed, said most adults would've cried uncle after the 1st few min. Turned out he had a whopper of an inner ear infection underneath it all he's the one kid that never had an ear infection?

Finally, home - taping Peanuts/Great Pumpkin ; while ds tries to get all his homework done before midnight.

mic - sounds like you've got everything under control, so glad you had it checked.

in the wpsadi or however it is spelled, i received the universal homie tag.
i was told that one can not be taken away from me as it was won in the ccontest.

the tag, universal is kewl had disappeared for 3 months. tag fairy played games with my mind on that one.
i whined so much it was restored.

the drool one is the one that replaced kewl tag.


hope jr is able to rest easy tonight keisha. infections can pound and make it hard for him to sleep.

if that is the case, give the guy a shot of jack daniels.
it helps me sleep.....

we gladly accept all donations jr is staying home & dressing up as michael myers from Halloween to scare the tykes. He doesn't eat chocolate or most candy ; ma & pa are sad indeed.

Hope trent is up & at 'em ; adorable how your daughter is so psyched.

Not sure what the cut-off is regionally? I know we have HS seniors come around with a school hoody on (not much of a costume, think they should @ least make an effort).
