Three men suspected of planning a terrorist attack on Miami are being detained by Florida police.
They had allegedly been overheard boasting of plans to "bring down" the city.
The men were stopped in two cars and a suspicious package found in one of the vehicles was detonated at the roadside.
Sniffer dogs are said to have reacted positively to the package in a search for explosive materials.

The alert came after a restaurant waitress in Georgia told police she had overheard three men of Middle Eastern appearance discussing terrorist plans on Wednesday night.
The woman said the men were talking about amounts of explosives and warned that Americans would "cry on September 13", police said.
The Florida Highway Patrol shut down a section of interstate 75 known as Alligator Alley in the early hours after the vehicles were stopped.
Alligator Alley is the main road from Naples to Fort Lauderdale across the Everglades in south Florida.
