I went to the spa today to get a facial.

I've never had one before in my life.
I just wash my skin with soap usually.

So I get there, and it's in the mall so my mom just left me and shopped.
I was supposed to get a "power facial" which was 45$. (and i had a 50$ giftcard from my birthday)
The girl told me how terrible my skin was, and how I should get a microderm abrasion (sp?) I never really agreed on that, but I had no clue what was going on and she did it anyway.
She like, vaccumed my skin all over and it felt like something scartching my face.

then she put all hese lotions and herbal stuff on my face.

THEN she put a TON of make-up on me.
and i usually don't wear a ton of make-up (if any at all.) usually just mascara.
she put a TON of foundation and powders and dark purple eyeshadow and blue eyeliner and she caked my lips with pink lipstick.
I honestly looked like a drag queen or something.

Then she convinced me I needed all these creams and lotions and cleansers to keep my skin looking nice, so I agreed on a couple (because I have a problem with saying 'NO')
My mom was waiting for me, and we get to the cash and she said all of it was 139$!

My mom told her No, I didn't want all that extra crap, but with the microderm abrasion thing and all that jazz it came to 77$!

So it wound up costing me 27$ in total (with the 50$ card i had)

I am SO angry.
I am going to go back to washing my face with soap and wearing my mascara and SHOVE IT FACIAL LADY!!

Wow that really stinks. I would have had a porblem saying no if I was in your situatuion to. But if someone said I had terrible skin I would be like "exuse me?!?!" and walked out.

thats not cool, i have a problem saying no
i hate when worker just try to persuade costumers and the customers don't even know what there talking about

Oh my gosh.
I would be so angry if that happened to me.
From picture you have posted of yourself I think you have very nice skin =]

poor Caitlin. Im picturing lipstick like that bright ugly red Amalie had :rotfl:

Thats terrible. I stink at saying no also. But, my mom would have gone nutz and yelled [not correct word but you know] the lady out.

That sucks.
Spas and stores that sell soap and stuff are really bad for begging you to buy stuff.

That Sucks. i can only not say no to my mom. Like if we are in a store and she holds somthing up and it's butt ugly but she loves it, i always end up saying yes.

See, what happens to me is..
Say, it's Christmas shopping, for me from my great aunt or my grandfather.
I'll say no to these ugly clothes for most of the time.
But she gets frustrated with me.
So I try some things on, that don't look too bad, and to make her happy I let her buy them.
But I never put them on my back after I get them, and then she gets mad when they don't fit and I want to get rid of them.

I wouldn't go back to the place. But that is how a microdermabrasion is supposed to be done, and it does feel sort of weird. I've had one before, but it was at the dermatologist, I didn't know spas did that.

I had a giftcard to a spa once and I got a facial. It felt really wonderful, but it made my skin flare up. I find that these little $1 face masks from Shopper's Drugmart work more miracles than a $50 facial do.

Whenever I get a facial, the next morning, my face will be convered in pimples. I have very sensitive skin so those weird creams don't do any good for me. I like generic pro-active. And soap. Like Zest or something. :upsidedow

I would have told her "shove" it also. But I wouldn't have a problem saying no.

i don't get facials in the first place. one time my friend went to get her 'stash' waxed and the lady started to get black heads out of her nose. she got in big trouble.
