We just returned from a two week stay at the Terra Verde Resort in Kissimmee. Here is the website of the condo that we stayed in... 4 Bedroom Condo
Prior to going, I was reluctant to stay off property, but since we were going with other families, it was so inexpensive that we had to give it a try. I was also relecutant because I wanted the extra hours at the Disney parks. After seeing the crowds at the Magic Kingdom on Sunday night, I realized that the extra hours at night were not going to be the perk that I expected.
The resort is located exactly 3 miles off of 192 off of Poinciana Blvd. After the first day, we found that if we would take the Osceola Parkway and pay the $.75 toll we could avoid all of the redlights. I must admit that I was suprised at how quickly we would get to the Disney gates. We were also close to 535 and often accessed Downtown Disney from this road. We were minutes from the largest 24 HR Wal-mart that I had ever seen. It was located just beyond the Osceola Parkway entrance. As soon as we were on the Osceola Parkway, it felt like you were on Disney property.
Our condo was a 4BR 3 Bath unit with our own pool and we had a washer and dryer. By having the washer and dryer, we will pack much lighter next time. The unit offered free national long distance and free dial up internet service if you brought your own laptop. There is also a main pool located at the club house. At the club house, you had access to computers to access the internet. During the evening, the bar was also open at the pool. Including the sofa bed in the living room, the unit sleeps 10 people. There are two bedrooms that have a queen size bed in each. There are also two bedrooms that have two twin beds in each.
If you are planning a Disney trip with mulitple families, these vacation homes are certainly the way to go.
