Hi all,

Mum is taking allour family away (5 adults 3 kids) to Disney in November and wr have booked Sequoia Lodge

Is there anything special you think we should do or maybe contact Disney and ask for something special?

Mum loves us all being there together and I want her to always remember this trip.

Any ideas?

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear the reason for the trip.

I would definitely contact Disney to see if there's anything they could do. I'm not sure who the best person/team would be but I'm sure someone more informed will be along shortly.

Didn't want to just 'read and run'

I hope you all have a wonderful time. Lots of love

Hi, 1st off, Im very sorry.

When I was in need of some first aid on my 2nd trip I went to a building near Plaza Gardens (on the left when you come out of the arcade running on the left when you enter the park).
There was a sign up in the medical room for Genies Lamp (or something with a similar name). I asked what it was and they informed me it was on the lines of make-a-wish. Perhaps the team here would be able to help?

Thanks folks, it is sad but we are gonna make sure Mum has Rhe best holiday!

And thanks for your ideas, I will see what we can do fir her. Might email the hotel too

I am so sorry to read this  I hope you will all make very special memories.

I am so sorry about your mam
But I am glad to hear that you managed to book something since your last thread.

Perhaps emailing the hotel explaining how important this trip is might cause a bit of pixie dust to be sprinkled

My thoughts are with you and your Mum. I hope you have a memorable and very magical trip :flower3:

Just wanted to pass on my sympathy to you at what I am sure is a very emotional time.

I am sure you will have a wonderful time and am throwing some pixie dust your way.

As for special treats - I would contact your hotel and even the park managers so see if there is anything extra special you can do.

Thanks everyone

Can't wait for us all to go, but hope it's nit as cold as last time when the rides froze!

I'm so sorry to hear your news. I think this is a beautiful thing to do to create some special memories as a family that you will always treasure.

This is such a sad thread but also very humbling that you will all get the chance to spend some lovely quality time together in such a magical place. The children especially will hold fond memories of this holiday and it will be a special time to reflect on in years to come. I am wishing you all a wonderful time and I hope all of your disney dreams come true xx

Such a sad reason to be going, but as others have said you can build some magical memories. From my experience, take all the pics you can - even if your mum is maybe not feeling so good one day. I know from experience there are never enough pictures:sad1: If there are particular characters she/the kids like ask Cms where to find them so you can get pics of that.

As well as contacting hotel and park managers, make sure any restaurants you book know the reason for your trip - not just for extra pixie dust but so they can seat you in an appropriate place where she can see everything but not get jostled by crowds. And if she's off her food ask if she can have a starter as a main, or pay children's price for a buffet.

Finally and very mundane - check your insurance! You want to make sure everyhting possible is covered (and that your european health cards are up to date).

Have a wonderful time making happy memories.

In Feb 2009 our little boy was diagnosed with a terminal condition (menkes disease) at 2.5 years old, the vast majority with the condition dont make it to 3 years, some friends raised some money to send us all to Disney Paris in September 09, I looked on the Disney site and pretty sure there is an email address for a special needs dept or similar and we got in touch with a lovely person called Sabine, she arranged toys and balloons for our son at the hotel and on our 3rd day organised a Cast Member of our own for the day, she said we could do whatever we wanted and meet whoever we wanted, it was truly amazing as she got just about every character for us and literally stopped rides in progress so we could maybe have a picture taken or something, they even organised one of the trains they use in the parades to come out especially for him, it was filled with characters too, they made us feel like royalty almost and made my boy the happiest little man in the world!

It is amazing there and our son is still here with us fighting on, we returned to Disney Paris last September which was magical but almost lost him a few weeks after we returned, he was on life support for a month but has fought back, since then we have taken him to Florida with Make A Wish and he is loving what time he has.

I'll see if I can dig out the email address I used in contact with Sabine.

Wow, what a sad story but equally a powerful and special little one you have!

Thankyou for that and I will contact them and see.

Good luck in your families ongoing battle and fingers crossed for more months and years ahead
