Teppanyaki in Japan renovations through September

Thanks for the heads up, guys!! I just called -- was on hold for about 30 minutes...

We originally had Teppanyaki on 9/25 at 6:15 p.m. Cancelled quite some time ago. This morning, I was able to re-book Le Chefs de France at 6:10 p.m. with VIP seating!!!!

Also, I cancelled an 8:10 at Le Cellier on the same day if someone wants to snap it up (but you'll probably miss Illuminations) and a 7:30 pm. at Le Chefs de France BOTH on the 25th.

I am SOOOO psyched!! (can you tell?! :rotfl2: ) I just called the special number (sorry gypsydoodlebug - I was only on hold about 15 minutes!!) and spoke to an awesome CM. I told her I was frustrated b/c I had called last week about my Teppanyaki ADR, asked to change to Le Cellier but was told there was nothing available in Epcot. Now I've been hearing from all these people who were not only given their 1st choice, but also VIP viewing for Illuminations and I didn't understand why that was not offered to me? :sad2: She asked what number I had called and I said the main dining number (WDW-DINE) and she said that's why. She said "Don't be frustrated - now you've called the right number to do that for you!!!" She gave me 3 choices for times at Le Cellier that same night (9/8) and set up the VIP viewing for Illuminations! The Illuminations could have been for any night of our stay, but that's the night before we leave :sad2: :sad1: so I thought that would be a great way to end our visit! :yay: This CM was wonderful - she gave me my first "magic moment"!! pixiedust:
Sorul82? THANK-YOU for sending me the telephone number!

The moral of the story is -- forget about WDW-DINE and call the line specifically for the Teppanyaki snafu (1-800-711-4344) :rotfl:

Good luck!

Great news! We will also be at Le Cellier/VIP Illuminations on 9/8 -- maybe we'll see you there:cool1:

Just called (they picked up right away!) and I was able to get LeCellier at 7pm for 8/30 with VIP Illuminations :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

OK, now I don't mean to be a worry wart -- but the thought occurs to me -- if these places were supposedly "booked solid" - how are they suddenly finding all these places to put us "refugees"?? Are we going to be sitting in the kitchen?? :lmao: or perhaps the basement?? :lmao: :lmao:
OOh - I know, I know -- they used pixie dust pixiedust: to magically enlarge the restaurants! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

(Trust me, I'm not complaining and these are rhetorical questions!!!):) ;)

I just called the special number and was unable to secure Le Cellier due to our party size of 7...I guess they could only squeeze so many extra people into a restaurant that was already booked solid. :(

We already had replacement ADRs @ Olivia's as the only thing offered the first time I called was Biergarten and we weren't interested in dining there. So I guess we'll just keep what we had.

I was able to get the VIP viewing for Illuminations though, so I'm happy about that.

It just figures -- the one time we were actually able to get reservations @ Teppanyaki on the date/time we wanted and this happens!

The last three times I've eaten at Le Cellier, my reservations have been delayed by about an hour. EXAMPLE: We had ressies last year at 6:30 ... ended up being seated about 7:25.

The same will probably happen now that Teppanyaki diners are relocating.

If possible, you might seriously want to change your VIP viewing to another night. I'm looking at worst case scenario here, but I feel you will be lucky to even get seated anywhere close to your check-in time as the later it gets in the day, the more backed up Le Cellier will be (especially with extra people being squeezed in due to the Teppanyaki situation). I honestly feel you might be pushing it to make it to Illuminations by 9pm.

During free DDP last year we had to wait over 45 mins. past our ADR time, which turned into an hour because we checked in about 15 minutes early thinking we'd get a jump on the crowd...silly me! :teeth:

We had Teppanyaki on 9/10, and had been trying to switch to LTT or Ohana for that night. The regular dining # were unable to get us in, so we made an ADR at Cape May. The special line (800-711-4344) gave us more choices (but not LTT or Ohana). We already have both Le Cellier on our arrival night, and Coral Reef on our last night, but were looking for seafood, so we chose to dine a second time at Coral Reef. Is the seafood much better there than Cape May? We were also offered the VIP Illuminations viewing, which I was able to add on our arrival night of 9/7. So, even though I was really looking forward to Teppanyaki, the VIP Illuminations will make our first night a little more magical. Our ADR at LC is at 6:30, so hopefully we will have no issues making it to the viewing area by 8:45.

I think 6pm should be fine...even if it takes you an hour to get seated, that still gives you almost two hours to have your dinner completed. Plus I'm sure the servers work as quickly as they can to move people in and out once they make it inside. Also, the VIP area is fairly close to Canada, so you don't have far to walk.

Thanks for the advice but I"m not too terribly concerned. If we don't make it to Illuminations we don't make it. I don't have another night for Epcot as this is a short trip and we just saw the show in may so I'm sure we'll live if we don't get to see it. If we do see it great beacuse I do love that show. Hopefully we'll be lucky and not have to wait long --- I've never had to wait to be seated so hopefully my luck remains with me.

I called the special 800 number and a CM picked up right away!! So, now I am having lunch in Mexico. Have never eaten there....and the VIP seating for Illuminations - is this just being able to stand down along the waterfront between France and England?

Called around 2PM NY time got Le Cellier and VIP for illuminations, Was only on hold for about a minute. Called the Special 800 #, Thanks for all the info from everyone.

PS. was also told that I would have been contacted in the next day or two as my ADR's were 9/12.......

The VIP Section is at the Begining of the world showcase behind and next to the large gift shop and the boat launch. It is just a ropped off area I still suggest you get there at least 15 Min Early....

Very wise to call in advance. I got the call on Saturday and was out of town and could not return the call until today...and now there is nothing left. I called in advance, but didn't know about the special number so I could only get 9 Dragons as a back up, and by the time I was able to call the dedicated line they couldn't do any better for me. I did get the Vip tickets, but what is this really? Just a roped off area where we still have to stand?

I got the call too but am confused as to where the VIP section is. There seems to be several different answers :confused3 I was told between Morroco and Italy, but they are not next to each other....

the special 800# is only open between 8:30a-8:30p but you can leave a message and have them call you back.

There must be several VIP locations because I called the special number today and got Le Cellier for our reservation and he told me that our VIP area was between Canada and the UK. I got right through tonight and the man was very helpful...i had already cancelled last week my Teppanyaki reservation and saw everyone was getting called now. He said he was glad I called and was able to now get me what I wanted plus the VIP.
