Teppanyaki in Japan renovations through September

I did call the 1-800# and I was able to get my next choice of Le Cellier for 5:40pm and the VIP firworks viewing!!!:dance3: I am so excited!! We are going on Sept 8th to Epcot and it is my Birthday!!!princess:

So this works out great. I did have a back up at Chefs De France when I read that Tepanyedo would not be ready?? So I need to cancel that today since I got Le Cellier.

I am glad Disney has come through....:cloud9:

There must be several VIP locations because I called the special number today and got Le Cellier for our reservation and he told me that our VIP area was between Canada and the UK.

Seems that Vip Sections are scattered around the water front of epcot. Can't wait until the trip........

Aaaargh...it seems as though everyone has been able to get Le Cellier but me!!! Are most of you getting it traveling in September? We will be there in August, so I am assuming that's why it was unavailable. What's really sad is 1/2 our party already had an ADR there, so we actually only needed a table for 3. When I called the "hotline" yesterday, all they said they had was a table for 2. I guess I could have asked her to check every night of our stay but that probably would have required multiple changes at other restaurants and I didn't know how willing they would be to do that. We ended up with Olivia's, which I'm sure will be fine. My only concern is that we are eating at Concourse the next night and when looking at the menus many of the appetizers/entrees/desserts are almost identical. Oh well...can't really complain when it's all free anyway. :thumbsup2

Good luck to those of you that still need to replace your Teppanyaki ADRs. :goodvibes

If that's the case, I wonder if you are already given a particular area when the reservation is first made, or if it is determined by when you pick up your wristband @ Guest Services.

I had previously called to rebook last week when I read on the DIS boards that Teppan Edo wasn't going to be open on 8/30.

The only options I had at that time were Morocco or Germany. I chose Morocco but wasn't thrilled :scared:

Thank you to whomever posted that 800#. I was able to call back today and not only get the VIP section for Illuminations, but I was able to move a couple of ADRs around and book Kona Cafe for a 6:40 seating.

If it wasn't for the everyone on the DIS boards I still wouldn't even know about the delayed opening. Now I not only have everything squared away, but was able to get my first alternate restaurant.

I had also called to book a backup last week and got my choice, Chefs de France. Our ADR was for Oct 1 and the CM recommended then having a back up thank goodness. Anyway, after reading about the VIP viewing, i called back and had that added. As a bonus, I had originally booked Teppanyaki for Sept 30 before deciding to attend MNSSHP that night. I hadn't gotten around to cancelling it yet and they were able to get me a 4:30 at Tony's Town Square before the party!:)

We were given The Garden grill at 7:30 and the vip viewing:yay: .If the sections are roped off I do hope people arn't jamed in like sardines!:crowded: I really don't think that we will have the time to eat and then get to our spot and we have never eaten there so I'm a little worried about that.

Just called at 10AM EST and got right through on the first ring. The CM told me that the VIP locations vary depending on the particular night. I had a 6PM ressie for Japan on Aug 29th and got 6:40 at Chefs du France. :goodvibes Depending on how long we actually have to wait for a table, we might be running for our VIP section. I'm sure that there will be no walkups available anywhere in Epcot for the next few weeks, and I'm sure the servers will be trying to get people fed and out quickly. We have 2 children, so we'd be quite OK with "commando style service" - enjoying the actual restaurant is something we'll do without the kids. LOL

He couldn't explain why people with ADR's later than my date had been called and I hadn't, but apologized for it and got me what I wanted. :)

Thanks to those who posted the 800#, and especially to my DSis NancyK who called me when she saw it posted here.

Good luck to all of you who still need to get your change made.

In the AllEars newsletter this week it mentions that the opening date is now Oct. 15. Has anyone heard this from a CM? I haven't called since last week and they said it is still listed as Sept. 15. (Our ADR is on 9/28.) I tried to call this morning, but after being on hold forever, the music just stopped and nothing happened at all for several minutes. Tried twice and the same thing happened both times. I'll try again, but just wondered if you guys had heard this. Thanks!

I was just called back, left message last night. I was able to get my Dad's 2nd choice WCC. She had to call the restaurant as it was booked. I had been trying to get the ADR since I found out about the closer. I wasn't offered Illuminations VIP seating, but that's okay. We're not going to Epcot that night now anyway.:cool1:

The lady I spoke with, Amy, was very helpful, she put my on hold while she called WCC to see if they would let her book me in, and halfway threw the 2nd song (i had been singing along in my head, as I'm at the library and would get odd looks for singing hi ho out loud) she checked in to make sure I knew that she was still working on it. She even had it noted that it was my Dad's birthday (and I didn't tell her it was, it is later in the week, but I'm sure he'll enjoy that and his large pepsi :rotfl2: )

I called around 12:15 today and got right through- I was able to get LeCellier for dinner and VIP fireworks instead of Teppanyaki.

We finally got our call!!! So, we got Le Cellier and the VIP area. They didn't mention anything to me about wrist bands...should they have???:confused3

When I talked to the CM on the special 800# she told me that the VIP area will be right between Canada and UK. (our ADR is at Le Cellier) She told us that either when we check in for our ADR or during our meal that we would be given 'badges' (her word) that will get us into the VIP area. Nothing was mentioned about a wrist band or getting it early. :confused3

A little consistency would be nice, huh?! :rotfl:

Hmmm...I was definitely told to get a wristband from Guest Services. Who knows what will actually happen. I'm really glad I wrote down the confirmation number I was given.

Now this is why I love the Dis boards so much! The special phone # is a life saver. I am anxiously awaiting 8:30 so I can call & change my ressie for Sept. 25. I'm hoping to get Le Cellier at 6:30 -- we will see how that goes. My friends and DH just don't understand why I am always on this board, but this is proof of why it's so helpful. Thanks!!

Has the date been pushed back again? I posted that question, but I haven't seen a response yet. I noticed in the AllEars newsletter that it said Oct. 15, so I wondered if that was now the date instead of Sept. 15. Our ADR is for 9/28.

They also told us it would be right outside Canada to the right and that we should meet up around 8:30 and present our passes to be taken to the VIP viewing area???:goodvibes :confused3 :goodvibes

He said meet up there by the boat launch area and it would not be far from Canada?? I am sure we will figure it out and I kept my Reservation # they gave me.:thumbsup2

THANK YOU for letting me know. I really appreciate it. Now...to find that special phone number and see what I can get in its place....

The # is 800-711-4344 -- make sure to ask for the VIP viewing. They will give you a conf# for the dinner ressie & and another one for the VIP.
