Hello! We have booked Teppan Edo for the first time in August, and though excited about it we are completely unsure of what to expect. I have only eaten at a "cook in front of you" steakhouse once and I was probably about 6 years old! The menu confuses me, because I presumed there was a set menu and all was cooked in front of you . . . .kind of like 'Ohana but cooked in front of you as opposed to being brought out on a stick, but the menu looks abundant and plated.....so what should we expect? We will be a party of 3 - so I assume we will be seated with others?

You pick what you want to eat from the menu, it isn't all served to you. For example: you could get chicken or shrimp or steak. They will also have combo plates where you can get chicken and shrimp for example. You'll get a soup and a salad and shrimp appetizer (I believe, this is common at local hibachi places can't remember if its there, it's like two shrimp) You will get either white rice or their special rice (local hibachi's have fried rice, this place does not) They provide two sauces for dipping and array of vegetables. They'll cook all the food in front of you and unless you have a party of 8 you will be seated with others. It's fun, they put on a show and the food is delicious.

Teppan Edo is quite good... I love watching the chefs at work. I've had the filet mignon, which is really good. I've also had the steak/chicken combo, again, really good. They serve udon noodles mixed with veg, yum. ...the rice use to be plain but i believe they flavour it with beef broth now. Its not fried rice (that's chinese lol).

These are just some images i pulled off google. I have my own pics, but that means i have to dig for them. lol. These pics are pretty accurate.

Our favorite TS at WDW! You are a party of 3 so you will be seated with others (usually 8 people to a hibachi table) though we've had less sit with us one time due to the restaurant not being busy in September.

You order what you want off the menu and they make it in front of you on the grill. The rice is brought from the kitchen along with drinks and possibly appetizers too (I think?!)

Nothing I've had here is bad so you've got good odds. ;)

Have fun!:earsgirl:

Not quite accurate. It is different than many local hibachi restaurants.
You will get a salad but no soup or shrimp. There are 3 dipping sauces. Their usual rice is a beef rice. You can request plain steamed white rice.
You order your main item and then as the photos above show it is cooked and served with noodles and veggies.
We love Teppan Edo.

Absolutely love it, my boyfriend insists its the first ADR made every year. If we have a spare TS he makes us go twice! Food couildnt be more freshly cooked and if you get a good chef they make it a great experience, see pic of Mickey made of onions!

@mouserrificmom if it helps: This is my dinner at Teppan Edo from January of this year. It was the Filet and white rice (mine was cooked allergen free in the kitchen though it is similar to what you would get on the hibachi grill at your table) mine had the white rice since I can not eat the Sukiyaki Beef Rice that they serve. They also serve a salad for a starter with what I believe is a ginger dressing.

Would like to try this place but one in our party is allergic to shrimp. Do you think it is possible to avoid cross contamination here?

Does anyone know if a party of 10 can be seated together? I have a reservation for 10 and would like to all be at same table.

We had a party of 7 and they stuck two more people at our table. They had to bring an extra chair in, so I would say the max per table is 9.

We did it last Aug and they ( husband and daughter ) want to go back this year. The food is really good and healthy. We are having hard times getting dinner reservation on our night there this upcoming Aug. Its only showing lunch times but either way we're going back.

I absolutely love Teppnan Edo. It is different then what you get at other restaurants at Epcot and I love the interaction not only with the chef but with others at your table. If there are people in your party who are shy or not comfortable eat with or in front of other people. I would find another option ( Garden Grill gets amazing reviews and have been there many time again AMAZING) You will order the meat that you want from a menu. That and the veggies are cooked on the grill in front of you where the salad and rice are brought from the back. We also have always had great service here.

I want to eat here so bad but have THE pickest 9 year old. She "might" eat the rice but thats it. :(

While you can interact with others seated at your table you don't have to. We eat there every trip and as a family of four we are always seated with others to fill the table - which normally seats eight. We've never felt uncomfortable being around others or felt that we should interact with them except for a cordial hello or have a good night when arriving or departing at the table. Also, all guests face the hibachi grill with only the two seated at each end also facing each other with a huge grill in between them. Teppan Edo is a must do for our family. Food is always fresh and delicious, experience is fun, and service has always been top notch.
Note - if using the regular dining plan you will get entree drink and dessert. If your reservation is for a dinner package such as the Candlelight Dining Package, you will also be entightled to order an appetizer.

Salad only - no soup included although I usually order the miso soup as an appetizer prior to dinner. They have a beef rice which I can't eat because it's got some kind of seafood powder or something in it (allergy to all seafood) so they give me the sticky white rice which is IMO more appropriate for Japanese teppanyaki and is what they used to serve standard.

Does anyone know if a party of 10 can be seated together? I have a reservation for 10 and would like to all be at same table.

I've seen them squeeze nine into the space although usually only if one is a child. I think 10 would be far too difficult. I'm sure they'd split you up.

I'm allergic to all seafood. They usually cook mine first if someone at the table is ordering seafood. I have no problem if seafood has been cooked earlier on the grill because they scrape it down very well and wipe it down after each set of diners. The temperatures are so hot that once the food is cooked, anything leftover is basically carbonized. I have even eaten there when they didn't cook mine first but just kept it separate from the other food but that's not really a reliable method as the cooking utensils have potentially contacted seafood. That was about 15 years ago and they haven't done it that way since. I've not had any problems and it doesn't take much for me if my food has contacted seafood.

Someone said the vegetables are mixed with the noodles. Can you ask for vegetables only, no noodles? And what dessert is the best?
