Teppan Edo sharing a meal?

And i can assure you..everyday at every restaurant on Disney property or not..people share a meal. Nothing will stop that.

And yet people have been made to order.

But there is always an exception.

You got the exception. Others haven’t. Do you get that?

Again. Ymmv

Please have a loved one who is honest with you read though your posts on any given subject, in order, in a row. And have them tell you that starting off with ”this is is absolutely positively what happens and all you have to do is ask” and THEN saying “ymmv” doesn’t make a bit of sense. And then insulting people by saying that all they have to do is treat people like humans, because what that means is that obviously people who don’t get the privileges you get are being jerks and that’s why, is really awful.

Start with “this is my experience”. And recognize kindly that “but others here have had other experiences”. That makes it balanced and actually, overall, true.

Like the fact that I have never once had a parking attendant tell me about a 3 hour rule, and have even had all the Poly lobby concierges tell me that it was no issue to stay parked and head to MK, and that they have never once had a car towed...that’s a fact for me, and I mention it because it happened and I’m sure I’m not alone, but I also do NOT tell people to expect that. Because I recognize that others have had different experiences.

It’s like it’s a non issue unless you post it here.

I wonder why people post their opposite-than-yours experiences here? Could it be because those experiences happened to them? That it was, in fact, an issue?

So there will be thousands different experiences.

Lead with that.

The nay sayers always unite and get all behind hurt when folks do things or receive things that they don’t thinks allowed or done etc.

No one gets “behind hurt”.

People are trying to help others have a pleasant experience with properly set expectations. And that means cleaning up the expectations you are setting with your incredible luck. Why not recognize that you have incredible luck?

God forbid you should say one little thing wrong...the dis-lords will surely put you in your place. I find it quite amusing really.

Only place in here I see “putting anyone in their place” is in this comment. And the treat humans like humans comment.

Everyone else is trying to set better expectations based on fairly broad experience.

And all those posts represent one one millionth at most of the folks that don’t post. But travel to WDW. Or Dl

And you are literally one person who has had your experiences. Plenty of other people who post have had different experiences. You are outnumbered here with such experiences. Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen to you, but your intense pixie dust likely won’t fall on others, and it’s best to not cause the expectation.

Oh and with the dining plan at via napoli it’s pretty commonly known that you cannot share entrees. I’ve never heard anyone say otherwise. Just to give another place where they are strict.

With the exception of one time when we were going to dinner at Sanaa, and AKL has a pretty big parking lot plus no easy access to a park, I have always received a three hour parking permit when Dining at any of the monorail resorts, the Yacht and Beach club, or Boardwalk.

I suppose most of this depends on which CM you talk to. But, I tend to agree that the limited parking experience seems to be more common than the park all day experience.

If I brought my family to a character meal or buffet, and one of my children didn’t eat, I would still pay for them.

That’s just me.
And that is the point. All different opinions and experiences. Hope you have great trips to the World
We are all individuals and do our vacations different. .

No, that isn't the point. The point is, character meals and buffets charge for entering, not for the amount of food you eat. Each person who enters pays the "cover fee" to do so. If it were normal and acceptable not to, then when servers noticed that a child wasn't eating very much (because plenty of them don't, I'm sure), then they wouldn't charge for them. However, that doesn't seem to happen with anyone but you. You're putting your server in a terrible position by even suggesting that they should allow you to share when no one else can.

Except it's not "all different..." experiences. It's everybody having one experience except one person (out of the one one-millionth of WDW visitors this board apparently represents) have a completely anomolous experience.

I share my experiences as well. As others that have agreed with me. Certainly not looking for “your” approval.

Different strokes for different folks. As stated. I share my experiences. They are not right or wrong. Just individual opinions or experience. Just like yours.
I’m not apologizing because you don’t agree with me. That’s life..
The sun will come up tomorrow.
I won’t respond anymore to this thread. From the PMs I have received. I know my experiences are not unusual. And have learned a lot about some folks here.

And we've learned a lot about you.

I am on TPN and we STILL paid for all buffets or all you can eat. I can still eat a few "safe foods"(turkey, rice, potatoes) but I typically don't even bother eating at restaurants because itI do still get allergic/mast cell symptoms from my "safe" foods sometimes. So unless I am really in the the mood for rice pasta or mashed potatoes, I don't eat. We have been pixie dusted a few times over the years at a la carte restaurants where they would bring me rice pasta or mashed potatoes without charging us.....but we would never expect something like that to happen

But back to the original topic....OP, sharing should not be an issue at all. My parents have shared meals many times and when I was able to eat, my friends and I would share meals as well at various Disney restaurants.

Server knew and said yes. Wasn’t looking other way. Sorry you don’t approve. But we don’t need your approval. We got It at Disney.

As you say, you do you. But I would definitely make it clear that what happens to you is more the exception than the rule. People shouldn't go expecting to be another exception, but be grateful if they are.

On the other hand, I would never claim someone was not eating, and then have them even nibble off of my plate. Stealing is what that is, and a server turning a blind eye is one not wanting to cause a confrontation. Sometimes as adults we need to know and do what is right without being forced into it.

110% yes, Free country. No one can stop you from meal sharing. Anywhere anytime. period.
We have shared out of pocket..the dining plan and all. Its something that no one can stop you from doing. period. Some folks may not like it..but that doesn't matter. You CAN do it.
Why do you insist on giving bad advice? Good for you being the one guy at Disney who gets to do whatever he wants, but coming on these threads and presenting your experience as the norm is not helpful to anyone.

With all this debate going on (which is ridiculous in my opinion), I only have one question. What does Ymmv mean? (You're my memory voice, yellow minnie mouse vacation? lol)

Your mileage may vary.

To be honest... this thread is ridiculous.
The person who posted already found her answer and said thank you, not just once, but twice. Many people not even noticing because of the arguing taking place that honestly.... is so insanely unimportant.
My advice: Go into a restaurant expecting to pay a meal for every single person. So make sure you have the money in your budget. If you want to share, ask, and if they let you GREAT, if not, then pay what you were prepared to pay.
The rest of you need to chill and stop because it's completely irrelevant to the actual post. We get it, you all have different opinions and we know exactly what those opinions are. So stop voicing your opinion in a way that completely demeans the other individual. And yes, this isn't aimed at just ONE person. Thank you.

In fairness, rarely does anybody post any acknowledgement to a "thanks", unless the person or persons being thanked went to extremes (researched a trip, sent the OP something, etc.)

So where were you five days ago, when this statement might have averted the rest of the conversation? ;)
