We have been to Teppan Edo 3 other times and really liked it but was thinking of trying San Angel Inn.
We cant decide :( Maybe we could have lunch at San Angel Inn and have dinner at Teppan Edo?
We don't want to spend a lot on table service in one day though.

We have eaten at both. Personally, I enjoyed Teppan Edo much more than San Angel. Our meal at San Angel wasn't bad, I just found it to be very average. The dessert however was very good. As the previous post suggest, you may want to try something new and give San Angel a try.

Normally I'd say no to SAI, but since the OP hasn't yet tried it themselves (and already done Teppan Edo three times) I'd give it a shot this trip.

We've eaten at both places. We both enjoyed Teppan Edo more than San Angel Inn. Not only do you get a show with your dinner the food is also way better in our opinion. We like the atmosphere at San Angel Inn but as for the actual meal Teppan Edo was a lot better.

I was thinking maybe we could go get appetizers and a dessert for lunch to enjoy the atmosphere at SAI. Then eat dinner at Teppan Edo. Good idea or not?

Yes that sounds like a great idea. San Angel Inn has a great variety of appetizers to choose from.

I would definitely recommend any plan that lets you eat at SAI. It has a special place in my heart, having eaten there with my mom on our only mother-daughter trip. But more than that, I was so happy to be finally seated up among those beautiful tables and lights and scenery that I had always seen from the boat ride.

We love Teppan Edo--it's become DD's favorite--and likely will go there many more times in our lives than to San Angel. But I wouldn't trade that one meal for anything!

Teppon Edo is definitely better, but SAI is not bad. To me the quality falls somewhere between a chain restaurant and a local family owned place.

If it were me I would make the call based on whether I wanted to try some place new. We like to try one or two different restaurants every trip. Go in with an open mind and you will enjoy it. You may come away with an opinion of which was better, but you will still enjoy it.

San Angel has beautiful scenery and great atmosphere but that just disguises what is very average food. If you have not been there before its a nice once and done place. My attitude towards Teppan Edo is close to the same, I have had much better food done in that style elsewhere ( being stationed in Japan has ruined me for that kind of food).

Wonderful idea! I'd do this as well. Apps/dessert at SAI for lunch....then dinner at Teppan Edo. Food at Teppan is really good btw....better than SAI. :) Enjoy!

We ate at both in May and enjoyed both! SAI is beautiful, my only issue was that it's really dark in there so I had to use the light from my phone to read the menu! Teppan Edo was fun, we sat with 5 other people and had a great time talking with them. The food was really good!

My son was begging me to go to SAI after seeing Coco so we are going on our next trip. We have hibachi sometimes at home, it's not something I'd seek out at Disney... I'm after the overall experience and things like SAI and Biergarten I can't get at home.

Food is much better at Teppan Edo...but if you've been 3 times...could be nice to try something new. San Angel isnt bad....but it lacks a little. Ambience is great....but service can be spotty.

I'm going to be a rarity here and say that I much prefer SAI over Teppan Edo. I love that it's not your typical Tex Mex restaurant found in large numbers in just about every town. The atmosphere is incredible and well worth trying at least once. The downside to SAI is that the service is average and the tables are packed so close. But that seems to be the same at so many places in WDW. As for Teppan Edo; nice restaurant but it's like any Japanese Steakhouse I've been to. Same food, same tricks, same antics and etc. Doesn't make it bad, it's just that I can do that at a dozen restaurants where I live.
