I was wondering how the kids DDP works at Teppan Edo. Do they get an appetizer? I noticed some menus say the kids get to choose a soup or salad then entree and dessert. Will the kids get all this at Teppan Edo too or is it just the entree that is included in the price?

Also can adults get a combo on the DDP or just a single?

Thanks so much!

Here is a link to the Teppan Edo menu. There is no appetizer listed for hte child's menu. The entrees are 9.50-12.00 though, a great deal for the child's meal

I was wondering the same thing. Usually if there is not an appetizer on the kids menu they get to pick an app. from the adults menu....but not sure if thats the case at Teppan edo??? There are no specific kids desserts so I assume they choose from the adult menu. Anyone with experience? Thanks!

The kids being able to select an adult appy is a thing of the past. If there are no children appetizers, then kids don't get an appy. The meal plan brochure indicates the kids order from the child's menu. If the child's menu does not have appys, then they are not able to order one from the adult menu.

I never got a meal plan brochure. What will happen with dessert? There isn't a kids dessert listed either. Should I take that to mean they don't get one?

I can almost bet the kids will at least get ice cream.

When we went last year prior to the restaurants rehab, my child got a chocolate chip cookie and the rest of us got ice cream. she wasn't allowed ice cream so I gave her mine and we saved the cookie for later. It may have changed now that the menu has changed.

We are eating there in Dec with 2 children... I am really interested in what the children will receive.

Can anyone that has been to Teppan Edo recently tell how it works now on the DDP? Can adults really get the Filet Mignon?! :yay:

And what can the kids get?

Thanks everyone!!

We were there back in June. Both adults got the filet. :woohoo:

Our boys both had kids meals, sorry no appetizer. We did order soup and pay for it OOP. DS couldn't go without his soup. :goodvibes

We were just there last week. No appetizer for kids. Dessert was a cookie. DS loved it. He had the kids shrimp. It came with noodles, mushrooms, veggies and white rice. There was also some dipping sauces. It was probably one of the best meals of the week.

I was there in September for the free dinning. We got the filet too. I thought it was going to be off the menu. Very good!

The only reason kids still get an appetizer anywhere is so that WDW can say that they offer well balanced meals for children.

All of Teppan Edo's children's meals have the veggies that are cooked on the grill, so the need for the appetizer goes down the tube in Disney's eyes.;)

BTW, our meal a couple months ago was the very best of our trip, and one of the best ever at WDW. I had the chicken & steak combo, DH had the shrimp and steak combo, DD had the children'ts chicken, and DS had the kid's shrimp.

It was a fabulous meal.

we were there a week ago today :sad1: - one of the best meals we had that week and my kids ds 12, dd 9 LOVED it - we had the filet mignon, sea scallops and shrimp - and the chef was absolutely amazing - very fun and good - i'd highly recommend it - of course my 12 year old wanted the eel rolls for an app, so we had to pay oop for that!

YUMMY! How were they?

he loved them and said they were very good - he considers himself a connisieur of all things Japanese - not sure where it comes from as i'm of Italian Heritage and his Mother, German heritage! :confused3

we sat down and all the servers, chefs were so pleasant and polite ( a lot of bowing) and he turns to me and said 'you see why i like this culture?'' :goodvibes

really was a very good and memorable meal -
