We are going to Pigeon Forge/Sevierville for 10 days leaving Friday July 1--anything I should know since our last visit in 2003? we plan to visit the new Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Costume Museum and attend the midnight 4th of July parade in Gatlinburg; but besides that and the changes at Dollywood (we're season passholders)--anything else new and exciting for a Disney loving family of DH, DS-17, DD-15, and ME????? :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl: Lovers of Disney and Dolly :cheer2:

you will love the new country fair rides. My DS had a blast. Unfortunately the new veggie tales roller coaster was still not completed when we went two months ago. Don't miss splash country either. it is especially HOT!!! right now. Have Fun!!!!!! :flower:

If you haven't already, you need to eat at the Apple Barn :)

Just saw a commercial today about Dollywood's Country Fair going on now until August 4th. The commercial mentioned 10 new rides. Apparently, things are set up to be like an old time country fair. I didn't pay a lot of attention but I did notice the quote about the rides because we have been thinking about taking our daughters (3 & 6) and we have heard that there aren't a lot of rides. Have fun!

Correct angiep, I was just researching the park at www.dollywood.com and checking out the new info. I haven't been yet - lived here 18 years and only been once, but plan on going this summer to check it out as well as splash country. Check out the website, it has lots of info.

We are Dollywood pass holders and (since we only live about 45 minutes away) we have been a few times this year. The new Country Fair area is very cool, with some great new rides. For those who had been there before, the old log flume ride is gone and has been replaced by some of the new stuff. If you are coming in the near future, it is VERY hot and humid here, just be prepared.

As to other stuff, it is expensive, but the Dixie Stampede is very good, very cheesy fun. My kids love it, and it is a great meal and show.

We just got back last weekend from Dollywood. Kidsfest is going on right now so they have spongebob, veggie tales, clifford themed attractions. They are also having the extreme stunt show with bikes, roller bladers, skateboarders.

There are several new rides for smaller kids in the new country fair. My 2 year old rode and rode as we went on a Monday and it wasn't very crowded.
