Not it's not. Collapsible cooler, Folded flat in your suitcase. Or have one delivered by Amazon, Garden Grocer, Walmart.com.

It still adds another piece to the luggage that we really weren't planning on taking. As far as ordering one, we shouldn't have to as they are listed as an in-room amenity.

No complaining allowed here
If you complain it means you are against fire safety and Limited Time Magic

Your happiness is not important. You are lucky the rooms have running water

Disney is allowing us to give them large amounts of money to hang out with them. We should be grateful for whatever they want to give us! :worship:

;)

I guess I will just take a bunch of mac and cheese to cook in my coffee pot to make up for all the extra breakfasts we'll have to buy. ;)

The apartment my wife and I lived in when we first got married cost the same for 1 month as my BC room costs per night

It had a fridge. (Small and leaky, but a fridge)

I just keep shaking my head at how many people here don't get the point of what some of us are unhappy about.

I could pack a collapsible cooler--have done it before. I could deal with buckets of ice every morning before we leave, again every night before bed, emptying water, drying things off before I use them, not taking leftovers back to the room, etc., etc.,, etc. Been there, done that. Not the end of the world, but not fun either.

My simple argument is getting what I paid for. They advertised a room with a fridge, among other things. I paid for a room with a fridge, among other things. Not they're not meeting their end of the deal. And, on top, not even telling me about it! Why shouldn't I be upset????

If you order something online and they only send part of the order, do you ask for the rest? Or say, oh well, at least I got part of it, so it's okay?

If you arrived and there were no towels or pillows in the room, would you ask for and expect them? Or just make do and roll up your dirty laundry to use as a pillow (after all a pillow isn't a necessity!)?

If you go to a restaurant and they don't bring all your food, do you still pay for it anyway and just "deal with it"? Or do you ask your waitress to bring the food or adjust the bill?

And the argument that since we can afford to go to Disney, we can afford an $8 cooler is beyond ridiculous!!!! With all I'm paying to go to Disney, the least they can do is provide what they promised!

Those get remove week 3. Glass is a safety issue. And so is hot water

I apologize for being so snarky. This will all work out :)

We are flying in &so a cooler is not really an option & we need a fridge so I called WDW & the CM told me that they are switching out the fridges in the rooms, but only in the rooms that are not occupied. She flat out said that we would have a fridge in Pop Century at the end of August...

I really hope she is correct!!

G

Oh, I hope this is the case! We're at POP end of August as well.

I'm starting to think that this thing may be getting blown out of proportion. A few posts have pointed towards the fact that they are replacing fridges from unoccupied rooms only. Change the fridges in the empty rooms first and continue on that way. It would minimize the impact to guests. The communication on this is not clear and obviously open to interpretation. I'll be very interesting to read reports of people checking in over the next few weeks to see what their fridge stats is.

I didn't think of it that way. Yeah, makes me wince about how much I am spending. The things I do for a Dole Whip!

So you pay if forward you bring or buy a cooler. Then leave it in the room with a note for the next family that comes in. Or give to the check in counter they can always pass it off.

As for the remarks about the doors, windows, and toilet paper. How stupid. I can believe comments like that. Then just don't go. Find someplace else to go. Disney owes you people nothing.

Let it go people. You know about the risk and the inconvenience. If it bothers you, CALL DISNEY. Don't speculate or question or wonder. Call and ask. Are you really going to let it ruin your vacation? I can think of 1000 things worse than not having a fridge. Lets move on.

Lol to all the last few posts
I like the one about doors being next
You would have tons of critters in your room but no complaining because you are at Disney

Stay classy my friend ;)

Disney is not going to leave it in the room for the next guess or pass it along.

Your right, what was I thinking.

The last thing I would do is use a cooler I found left in the room.

They owe people their money's worth although we can debate what that means. Saying Disney owes "you people nothing" is beyond belief.

And it is hard to go somewhere else when Disney won't let you by keeping your money.

Why as a paying customer should I have to lug a cooler from home and replace it with ice during our stay when I am paying top dollar to stay on property in a Disney hotel. Disney's CEO made like $50 million last year. Why do I have to buy my own cooler? :confused3

Sadly because apologists think Disney is doing you a favor. They have an issue and hopefully will make it right. But it is your money and you need to do what is best for you.

On every one of my trips. I have left thing for incoming families both in my room and at the check in counter with a note. Mostly decorations and trading pin or stickers. I have gotten emails from almost every trip for the next person thanking me. So yes they do pay it forward. I also plan on doing for our next trip in December.

A share the cooler program would be a great idea. The resort would have to coordinate it as the resort shouldn't leave anything in a room from a previous guest. It could be a great thing to do.
