Anybody know the best deal or have experience with purchasing a phone for a month? We want our kids to have phones at Disney, in case we are ever separated.

Have never dealt with prepaid phones, but that's a great idea for your kids.

I just googled it, and looks like you can get one at walmart for $9.98.. not sure if those include minutes already, but then you can buy the prepaid cards for them.. not too bad of price, and could always hang on to the phone then for future use too.

Just to tell you that you will want to check the service of the provider that you choose. Several years ago, I had Sprint/Nextel, I found every dead zone in WDW. Now we have AT&T and the service is better.

I saw a couple that had MetroPCS and they didn't seem to be having much luck.

We have been Virgin Mobile customers for years. Always have good service in WDW.

Right now, they have a phone for $19.99, that includes $20 of air time...so it is like getting the phone for free. The air time is good for 90 days, at which time you have to top up another $20 if you want to keep your service active. (or you can do $10 every 45 days).

I have the pay as you go plan and average around $6 / month.

Yep...that is exactly what I was wondering about...actual phone service in Disney. We have VM for DH and I, but I did not know about their $20 phones!

Thanks!!

Ooh...that one looks good and it is AT&T! Can't beat a $10 "safety" feature for the kiddos. :)
