Temp for swimming - how low?

When we go on ski trips we like to go in the hot tub, get out and roll in the snow and then get back in the hot tub/heated pool. If a pool is heated I would go in it even if it is freezing outside. But I'm Canadian and the lake I grew up swimming in every summer in NW Ontario never gets warm so I'm used to cold water.

We also have a cottage in NW Ontario. I agree, it was tolerable by mid August, but never warm. Absolutely beautiful and completely refreshing to go for a dip in the lake though! I always felt awesome afterwards. I do not feel the same excitement for a pool and it has to be pretty darn warm to get me to go in:rotfl:

There is no "too cold" air temp as long as the pool is heated. It was in the 40's or maybe even less when we were swimming a few years ago. Loved it!
