I would go down to the desk explain your on your honeymoon & your being woken up at 4am by these trucks see if they can move you! Seriously!! Sending happy thoughts that pixie dust hits your honeymoon!

I completely agree! Ask to speak to a manager, politely explain what you told us and ask if there are any available rooms in the same category. As others on here have said, it can't be fixed if they don't know there's an issue...don't wait till you get home!

Did they even have the celebration buttons for you? When we did our anniversary there, the buttons already had our names in them. If there wasn't even that, then I wonder if your honeymoon somehow wasn't noted on the reservation...

Wow... some of these stories have brought tears to my eyes. My DH and I have been going to WDW for over 25 years now. We weren't able to have kids, so it's just the two of us, but I never even knew such a thing went on.
We have never received an upgrade and usually just stay in a standard view moderate.

Perhaps the fact that we are flying from a long distance and usually don't arrive until later at night is the reason we have never been offered an upgrade. I'm sure the resort is full by then because there usually isn't even the greatest choice left in standard views by that time.

The pics and descriptions of some of these rooms are amazing!
Love hearing the stories of how the CM's make an upgrade a truly magical occassion.

We are heading to WDW again next month for our 25 wedding anniversary... can't wait!

I just love reading about guests getting upgraded. Of course, I always wish it were me, but alas, it never has been! And I agree with getting the room you want, not expecting an upgrade! We arrive at CR in 31 days, with a garden wing, garden view room and that will be just fine for my DD and I. I would love to have gotten the TPV CL, but couldn't justify the cost, especially since I splurged and upgraded to Deluxe Dining. We will have fun, no matter what, since it is the first time we have ever gone on a "girls only" vacation

I used to work front desk at Pop. Most upgrades will be based on operational needs or because the resort has been overbooked.

One time I pulled up a reservation and it said "Don't check in!! Call back office!!" So I call the back and the told me to ask the guest if they wanted a free upgrade to AKL for the entire length of their stay!! Of course the guests were thrilled!!

Today we were checking in at Boardwalk and got upgraded to the vice presidential suite! By far the biggest surprise ever apparently there was a late cancelation. Best room ive ever seen or dreamed to have been in and an absolutely stunning view of the boardwalk and the lake!

7 Days and we had put we were celebrating a graduation. we were originally staying club level. and for everyone else we have been taking loads of pics!

We just got back from a weeks stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We booked a standard room but when we checked in they said they had upgraded us to a Royal Room. It was quite a nice surprise as my husband and I were celebrating our 22nd anniversary!!!!!!

Our second trip ever will be May 2014. We plan to stay at POR, and as we are a party of 5, as much as I would wish for pixie dust, I don't think there is anywhere they can upgrade us from the preferred room we plan to book.

But we don't care...we're at Disney, with our kids, for our 20th anniversary, on what will probably be our last big family vacation. (Our oldest starts university in fall 2014) that's magic enough for us!

We were upgraded at the Beach Club on our second stay there. This was in 1994 and before we had kids. Upon check in, the cast member at the desk said "oh, we've upgraded you to a suite" We had booked a lagoon/pool view and ended up with a suite overlooking the water on one side and the quiet pool on the other.

We weren't celebrating anything, nor did I ask about an upgrade...at the time I didn't even know about upgrades. Needless to say, it was a nice surprise!

Upgraded from a standard Poly room to a Club Level room in 2008 and upgraded from a standard room at WL to a courtyard view in 2012.

Good for you! That is great! Hubby and I will be heading to Boardwalk Thursday night for a Kid Free weekend! First one we've had in years! Secretly hoping for an upgrade!

We spent 6 days at AKL in august. We booked standard view but were upgraded to savanna view !!! We were celebrating our anniversary so we were very excited. Headed to POP for our DD's sweet 16 the first week of December . Is it too much to wish for more pixie dust???

These are fun stories.

Technically I got upgraded but I actually refused it. I had wanted to stay at the WL for a long time. Our plane was delayed and we ended up getting to the WL really late. At check in they said that they had a shortage of rooms due to a plumbing problem and they offered us a tower room at the Contempory Resort. Since that was my least favorite resort and I REALLY wanted to experience WL, I refused.

My first trip in 10 years I booked for AKL. I was already getting a value villa and BOOM when I got there... a savannah view! I also had free dining that week so it was just all around amazing.

This year WL gave me a room where I could see fireworks at MK.

Wow, these pixie dust upgrades are awesome! If we were ever upgraded to choose another resort, I would pick Poly ^_^

We've never had any upgrades like this ... at all. BUT last year we had a POR at a Royal Room (we did pay for) and we ended up getting a corner room! I think it was a handicap room cause it was very different and larger ^_^

That's about it. But hey, any stay on resort is an upgrade to me!
