Tell us the ways to beat fast pass+

Right now I just don't see 3 FPs as enough incentive to stay onsite. If the system were like at Universal with unlimited FPs then that would be different. I would much rather stay offsite and use the money I save towards an extra RD day in the parks. Even on the very busiest days it should be quite possible to fit 3 headliners within the first 90 min of park opening.

Except that comment was tongue-in-cheek (hence the ;)), and I don't believe restricting "super-use" was a primary motive for scrapping legacy FP. I believe you do, however, and I can respect it if I can't bring myself to agree with it. :goodvibes

The belief is based on factual information from people who work for Disney that actually do know. I would not have an opinion about it otherwise.

I still don't know what to do.. help help help!!!!!!

do I change my fastpass selections so one of us gets a fastpass and the other parents gets a rider's switch pass for our height restricted children???? Are the CM's strict and only allow both parents to have a fastpass selection to obtain that rider's pass??

We are in a similar situation to you for our March trip. We have a child who is 48-inches tall, one who is 40-inches tall and an infant so we are doing rider swap no matter what. Right now I have us all scheduled for the same FP+ selections even for rides like Space Mountain and Expedition Everest that the middle one will be too small to ride. After I read your posts in this thread and another and the responses you got I started to wonder if I should reschedule the middle one's FP+ for those rides so he can do something else with me and the baby during those times. I talked it over with my husband and we decided to leave it as is and here's why. It takes just one CM who insists that you all have FP+ in order to get a rider swap to effectively prevent you from riding the ride (or wait in a crazy standby line) and it seems like they are all over the board right now. So, I think the short answer to your question is that no one knows how the CMs are going to respond. Plus, when we used to do rider swap with FP-, I remember having to give them a paper FP for all of us at the initial entry point (except the non-riding child) in order to get the rider swap ticket. The theory being that it was suppose to be like I was in line with them, so I should have a FP for the same time as well. It seems like it would be easy enough for them to likewise make everyone scan their MB in order to get the rider swap ticket especially while they are still figuring it out and trying to close any "loopholes." So, while it is tempting I think it is too big a risk to split your FP+ like that. At least that's what we are thinking. Hope it helps!

I have to admit, when they start offering more FP+ for $$$ I will likely be a sucker and pay. I'd rather pay for a couple of re-rides than stand in line.
This is me as well. I don't care what others will think, when (definitely when and no if) they start selling FP+ I'll be right there to buy them. I never toured the park with less than 6-8 Fastpasses and I'm not going to start now.

Ok, here's what I'm hoping to do, although I'm not sure it will work. We plan to travel with my parents, who have been to Disney a hundred times and don't care to ride many headliners anymore. They simply go for the atmosphere and to spend time with us. My husband and I figure that we will just try to use their FPs.

That's the only way that I can think of to "cheat" the system. Go with people who don't plan to use FP+ and hope Disney allows you to use their selections.

Has anyone tried this?

A friend and her daughter went last week and the daughter used all of their fastpass+ for both. She put on my friend's band and hid the other under her sleeve. They did not notice if the scanners were not working, but that extra band should have been detected.

Why would it have been detected?

Maybe I don't understand your point.

It appears that no one knows for sure, IF RS has changed since FP+... I can only tell you from FP- days, and I can assure you I NEVER needed one time my own FP .. My hubby and older kids had FP- , we would ALL go to entrance, show under 40" child and they would hand me over the RS ticket to ride at any time later in the day in the FP return line. We always split up how we got our FP (if some want to call that cheating the system then fine, I call it being creative)

we plan on doing it the same way for our next trip, until I read otherwise.
So Yes I would book it the way you have it with each of you getting different FP.... you can be our "tester" and take one for the team :) and let us know how it goes.. good luck!

At this point the only two exploits are the "switch rider" fast pass and using another person's magic band.

The other way is to abuse the disability access card system. This is way to unethical, but I think the first two are fine.

I am surprised no other ideas are being shared.

The vibe I'm getting from this thread and other similar threads that Disney Parks fanatics are a super-entitled bunch. Disney decides to change the rules on how something works and the first thing they want to do is figure out how to get around those rules.

A super entitled bunch?

When Disney invites me to come for free I'll be grateful for whatever they decide to provide. Until then...

There was such buzz about when GAC was changed over to DAS, it now looks like it has turned back into a major advantage and will no doubt continue to get abused.!

Please tell how? as I reckon about 75% of people who used GAC are being refused DAS, most of the CM's in GS haven't got a clue, they see a wheelchair, ECV, Powerchair, and say you don't need one.

I'm sure, the CM's "extensive training" makes them "experts". :rolleyes2

I agree with you. It's disturbing me.

75% wow that is a high number. I guess I am just "reckoning" like you are so I have no proof.

Just a quick read on the other section of the boards and other places you learn "key" words you need to say to gain access. Obviously there is no guarantee. It now is about explaining why you can not wait in the line. So in time word will spread to the masses and they will learn the key phrases and it will get abused again. The reality is with 3 fastpasses a day the DAS is now an advantage again. Nothing like the GAC, but then again fastpass- is not what it once was either. Coupling that with your 3 fastpasses and it would make for a very nice day.(for those without disabilities)

Please don't take it personal as really it is just an observance as I found it odd that the dust seemed to settle so quickly on that issue and it seemed people had little trouble getting the passes. Not all mind you but the ones that know how to work the system. It is usually the ones that truly need it that suffer.

Absolute truth here. The DAS will be extremely exploited until some better way comes along. Expect to see a lot of visitors with their little das books setting up their return time quasi fast pass.

Or an extremely loyal bunch looking to maintain a good park experience. Don't be upset that we are willing to walk a little faster than you to get a fast pass.

How would it be detected? You have to put those up just right to get it even to detect the one you're intending to use!! LOL. Plus my kids don't like wearing theirs and I end up wearing them on my lanyard along with mine. So I walk around with 3 magic bands on me most of the time. Hanging right in front. No need to hide things.

I agree with Amy. I've seen people complaining about how close you had to be to get the MB read, but I'm sure that's intentional. I would be very disturbed if I was near the MB scanner and it read my MB when I didn't want it to. Maybe I am standing there trying to decide if I really wanted to use my FP+ for this ride with a not very long wait time or should I step aside and reschedule that FP for something else later. So they need to make sure you are very intentionally using it.
