Tell me your thoughts about Fire Proof....

and the Love Dare. DH and I watched it due to the recommendation of others and we were impressed. We will be married 14 years this April and have had our ups and downs, but lately we have been at odds with each other.

So for those who have see the movie and who have taken the Love Dare challenge please share your thoughts and experiences.

I haven't done the challenge yet, but did see the movie. The movie was very inspirational, and I imagine that if you were inspired by the movie, that the love dare will add alot to your marriage.

I intended to get the love dare, but I forgot. Thanks for the reminder. And hope things get better for you.

I have not seen Fireproof but plan of seeing it. I have seen the challenge book but have not read it or anything. My DH probably would not do the challange. While he is a Christian, he isn't into any type of self help or dare challenges. It is probably something I'd like.

I hope y'all can work on the issues you have. Been there, done that.

DH and I have been together 20yrs., married 18. Plenty of ups and downs that is for sure.

I saw the movie begrudingly and liked it a lot more than I thought I would. DH really didn't like it. Neither one of us had a desire to go further with any of the movie's suggested materials so I have not even looked at the Love Dare stuff.

If you are both interested and willing, might as well give it try and see what you think =)

I purchased the book as our Valentine gift. It is the same challenge which the male character participated in in the movie. Each day the person is tasked with a challenge. Some of the challenges are:

Demonstrate patience and not say anything nothing for a whole day
Demonstrate one act of kindness
Call during day and see if you can do something for him/her
Pray for your three areas you wish God to help your spouse
Throw out things that is hindering, influencing or stealing your affections from your spouse

Etc.....

Nope, have not seen that movie yet. If it comes on the Christian Channel (TBN?) I might.

I like Kirk and his Christian movies. His faith is certainly a draw to watch them. Anyway that is the appeal to me.

Here is the issue I have with that. I have not seen the movie yet so take this with a grain of salt.

You have to learn to work with the issues in your marriage.

Of course the DH in the movie has a porn addiction so that is extreme. I understand getting rid of the computer in that case.

But that is not realistic for most couples. Do they address that part of it?

I admire Kirk Cameron and his faith. Did you know that he refuses to kiss anyone other than his wife? And in Fireproof, at the end when they kiss, it is at a distance, because it is not the actress he is kissing, it is his wife.

I wasn't too thrilled with some of the acting in Fireproof, but the message more than made up for it

My husband knows how much I love the movie Bella. So tonight he is going to watch it with me.
