Tell me your little, or big, things that you always do/enjoy/see/eat/drink or things that are easily missed or forgotten, both at the parks/City walk and in the hotels.

I want to make a list of things to tick off as we go of things I've heard on podcasts and seen on the boards, but of course, as soon as you try to make a list, your mind goes completely blank.

We are there for 5 days (Aug 20-24), staying at RPR, wanting to hit VB a few times, and will probably use one night to go to the outlets since the parks close at about 8pm-9pm the nights we are there.
We have also got one night planned to do an appetizer/drink crawl around CW.

I have visited UOR twice, and my sister once, but may not get back, ever, or at least for a long time.
I know we cant see and do everything, but i just want your suggestions so that we have a list to refer to at times.

EG. on my list is if we get rained out or want something to do after park close, to hit up Strong Water Tavern at Sapphire falls to have a rum flight.

We love donuts from Lard Lad donuts in Simpsons land, ice cream from Florean Fortescues, Mama Dellas Italian restaurant at Portofino, Emerils at Royal Pacific... All my things are centered around food
Things to see & do... Really explore Diagon Alley, all the little nooks and crannies... There's so much to see!

Horror Makeup Show - I think a lot of people miss that, I know we did our first few trips. We try to go every trip now.

Try to do the behind the scenes tours of MIB and Mummy. We've tried a few times and haven't been able to do them, but we did the tour of Twister before it closed. You don't get many opportunities to do something like that for free. Just ask the team member at the front of the line if they are doing tours.

Kids? There's a great playground in IOA by Jurassic Park. Caves and tunnels and lots of fun.

Dr. Seuss play area is also great.

Drinks and apps by the pool at HRH.

Butterbeer - both ways (3 ways if in season) & butterbeer icecream
platform 9 3/4
call the ministry of magic

argue with the fountain outside sinbad

have an encounter with a real dinosaur walking around the park

Ive only had frozen butter beer, but we are def planning on trying as many of the ice creams at Florean Fortiscues

But the stuff in Lost continent is a good one, the 2 times I've been, we just blaze through there.

The ice cream in Diagon Alley. The Simpsons pink donut is really good. I liked stopping and watching the moving paintings inside Hogwarts and the moving pictures in the newspapers on the way to the ride inside Gringotts. I always like to look at the floating candles overhead when you sit down on the Forbidden Journey ride. Don't wait in line at the Butterbeer stand in the walkway. Go inside the Hogs Head pub or whatever it is. Much smaller line. Items purchased can be sent back to your room or the front of the park if you don't want to carry them around with you.

When you walk into Port of Entry in IOA......stand underneath some of the higher windows and listen......you hear some surprising things........

Similar, listen for Moaning Myrtle in bathrooms........male and female.

Look up high within the Hogs Head and 3 B's. Also you can find the 3 Broomsticks hanging up there.

On top deck of Me Ship the Olive you can aim water jets for free at folks on the Bilge Barge Ride.......so funny!

Buy postcards from Hogsmeade, they'll open the pack and stamp them with the Hogsmeade stamp.

The Mystic Fountain is somewhere I could sit for hours and watch. Couple of the people that voice the Fountain are particularly funny. And sometimes the adult humour is ever so slight, and over the head of little ones. But well worth spending some time listening to or interacting with.

Do the Mummy tour and MIB if you can.

Get your picture taken with Bruce the shark behind Richter Burger.......he used to be in what was Amity and is now Potter. Glad they kept him.

In the Studios go into Madame Malkins in Diagonal Alley and stand in front of the mirror........you may get a compliment, or you may not........

In the window of one of the shops you can see a set of shark Jaws as a tribute to the ride that used to inhabit that land. Always like to see that.

Check out the ceiling in Knockturn Alley.

Look out for Kreacher appearing at the window of Grimmauld Place.......he appears regularly so you won't have long to wait.

StrongWater Tavern is fabulous! My husband did the rum flight and loved it.........good food too.......if you like sushi, Orchids Lounge in RPR is fabulous too........some of the best sushi around! And haven't had a bad cocktail yet.....

I'm sure there are a million more I can't think of right now........

I think everybody (especially schumigirl) hit all of mine, and some I had forgotten about.

I love to listen to the Mystic fountain in IOA and watch it squirt kids.

Knockturn Alley is a cool place to spend some time on a hot afternoon. The singing shrunken heads in there are fun to watch.

When going to the Hogwarts Express in King's Cross, be sure to hang back and watch the folks ahead of you disappearing through the wall to the platform. It is a cool effect.

The wait at Toothsome's one night was too long, but we wanted to try their amazing desserts, so my daughter and I each bought something, then walked over to Starbucks at City Walk, got a drink and sat outside and people watched. It was so relaxing. Also, if you want to soak up the HP ambiance, make sure you get to Diagon Alley the last hour before closing, or whenever it's getting dark, get an ice cream and sit on the steps at Gringott's. It's much less crowded, and fun to watch everyone getting video of the dragon and pics on Hagrid's bike.

Schumigirl, I did hear Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom near Filch's in Hogsmeade, but there were so many other people in there with me talking, I couldn't make out a thing she was saying, plus it echoed in there. So if you want to hear Moaning Myrtle distinctly, I would say visit the bathroom very early or very late in the day.

Take your time in all the HP shops. Visit them each once or twice if you can. Enjoy the themed merchandise, but also look around, in corners, and up high to fully appreciate all the amazing details in the buildings.

Get your picture taken wih the villain characters...they are much more fun. :)

How does one 'argue with a fountain'? Or is this something you need to actually be at the fountain to understand?

oh... I do remember reading that RRR has hidden songs you can choose.. someone posted the list in another thread.. all I know is I need to find the number for the Muppet's Moving Right Along :)
