I am wondering what types of things you always buy when you stay at DVC, items that require little to no clean up. Part of why I want to know too is because we are going to Mariott Vacation Club  for Memorial Day and it is the same set up.

Water to freeze for the parks, Soda, microwave popcorn, breakfast foods, frozen pizza.

Milk for Coffee
OJ
Soda
Water
Coffee Filters
Coffee
DD and I check out the Frozen Food Section ~ we don't have a great selection of stuff as in the states, so we like to try the different Breakfast and Snack Foods!

Just your basic staples!

Scratch

Soda, Water
OJ, Cheerios, Milk, Bagels, Peanut Butter, Eggs for breakfasts
Bread, Cheese, Margarine, Tomato Soup (grilled cheese sandwiches!)
Ice Cream for bedtime snack

Cereal, bread, margarine, milk, cheese, tomatos, bacon, lettuc salad dressing, pork chops, potatos, small ham, fruit, fruit, fruit juice, tea, frozen veggies, carrots, ice cream, Crystal light.

We usually stay for 10 days and we will make at least one or two dinners in the unit (depending on how many people are along), and it is easy to do the pork chops on the grill and to throw the ham in the oven. It is great to have the leftover ham for quick evening suppers too. We always do breakfast in the villa and have our snacks and sometimes a light supper there in addition to the dinner or two. Most days we eat our main meal at one of the nice sit down restaurants at Epcot or the resorts.

We like to get an already roasted whole chicken and a bag of salad greens too.

We stayed in a studio last time, so our groceries were limited to what we could handle there....that said - we ate almost every breakfast and lunch in the room (have a 3 and 5 year old, so going back to the room for a rest was GREAT - not to mention I had some SERIOUSLY bad morning sickness lol).

Coffee (the kind already in the filter so you just toss it in the pot and off you go), sugar, milk, cereal, frozen biscuits and sausage, bagels and cream cheese, lunch meat, mayo, mustard, bread, cheese, chips, soft drinks and water (we use a Brita filter bottle in the parks - works GREAT and the water can be dumped when not in use so you aren't carrying the extra weight), lunchables and other microwavable lunches for the boys, bananas, grapes and some snackies to toss in the backpack to take to the parks and enjoy in the room at night.

When we stay in the 2 bedroom in Dec, I am sure our shopping list will be somewhat expanded to include a couple of quick and easy meals. One thing with having small children is that they cannot wait for a dinner that might be 90 minutes away - when its time to eat - ITS TIME! :earsgirl:

Sometimes I'll buy the milk, butter, and maybe some frozen pizza and ice cream at the merchantile instead of packing it. Depends.

Goldfish crackers/snack crackers for park snacks

Since many of the quick park meals are not as nutritious as I'd like for the family we really try and have lots of easy to fix fruits and veggies in our villa. We get apples, oranges, pears, bananas, grapes, cantaloupe, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, and red bell peppers. I put a big bowl of fruit on the table right as I unpack the groceries and encourage the kids to snack on any fruit they want any time, and we also throw a couple of pieces of fuit into the backpack on the way out. We fix easy meals like spaghetti and tacos and serve them up with the bright sweet veggies that the kids will eat. Breakfast is usually cereal or easy omelets.

I'm getting off the subject and onto my soapbox  but, having a kitchen really lets us balance out what we eat in a day. I think it's just fine to have hot dogs and french fries, popcorn, and Mickey bars but my kids would order them at every meal given the chance (okay...so would I  ). By stocking a kitchen with good tasting good-for-you food I hope they will learn to make good choices without me being the nutrition nazi! :teeth:
