Okay, just bought a Wii (finally). Anywho, now we need some good games. I don't want to buy a lot of crappy games, so give me your best recommendations. We are 2 adults, no kids, mid-thirties. We like the games that make the best use of the Wiimote (i.e., nothing that's too much like traditional gaming where you sit on your butt and push buttons). Other than that, we're pretty much open to anything -- nothing really offends us, etc.

Let me hear it!

(Oh, and has anyone played any of the Raving Rabbids? Are they good? They look like they would appeal to my highly developed sense of the absurd!)

My DS loves Raving Rabbids. Our favorite games are Mario Kart, Rock Band, Carnival Games, Sports Resort and Mario Super Sluggers. Have fun!

We signed up with Gamefly so we could tryout the games before we bought them. It works well for us. Once DS has "completed" a game he is pretty much done with it.

My favorite game is making a slow trek across the country to my home right now.

WE have a slew of games.....

Carnival is fun...a lot of different games within the one
Super Mario Party 8 is a new one, so we really haven't played it that much

Wii Fit is fun.....you save your info, so you can 'compete' to have the highest score in the house!

we like Star Wars and Indiana Jones Lego...but that is more of a sit down thing

The youngest only has a handful of games but always goes back to Madden, two different baseball games (one is Mario, forget the other) and loves MarioKart. It seems like whenever he has people over they always play that or he takes it to his buddy's house. He will also pull out the gamecube games and throw them in, SuperMario Sunshine and one of the Zelda games get some playing time. I think Luigi's Mansion too but it's scratched, so he gets just a bit frustrated with that.

Toy Story Mania is a lot of fun. We got it a few days ago and loved it. Some of the games are straight out of the ride, others are new. But it is a lot of fun!:thumbsup2

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Wii Resort

Wii Fit

Mario Kart (definitely a different gaming experience with the wii motes and wii wheels, just make sure you buy enough for everyone to have one!)

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (its a first person shooter, shooting zombies. it really utilizes the wii mote, and its lots of fun)

and i really really really want toy story mania!

I'm also 30something, no kids, who loves my wii. My take on some of the games mentioned.

Raving Rabbids - rented from the library, fun for the afternoon but glad I didn't spend any money on it (felt the same way about Mario Party 8)

Guitar Hero 5 - love it. SO and I enjoy working together to hit the band moments

Mario Kart - fun to race each other and even more fun to race people around the world

Wii fit - I played my moms and I never broke a sweat. Glad I didn't buy one.

Lego Indiana Jones - you can play 2 player cooperatively, so a great way to play together rather than against each other. Same goes for the other Lego games.

Guitar Hero, Wii Fit, Toy Story Mania, Carnival Games, EA Sports, Hasbiro Game Night, Mario Kart, Tennis, Wii Sports Resort

We got Toy Story Mania on Tuesday and I think we're addicted. LOL! SOOOO much fun! :thumbsup2

Guitar Hero's pretty fun too...we also like Wii Sports Resort and Mario Party. And thanks to the DIS we ended up getting Animal Crossing!

They had Raving Rabbids at the country club I worked at over the summer. The kids really liked it but I did not get it at all. Seemed kind of stupid. :confused3

EA Sports Active
Wii Sports Resort
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics
Williams Pinball Hall of Fame

I'm 46 and I love Boom Blox. :lmao: It uses the Wii remote.

I agree with renting the games before buying. There have been very few so far that I've actually wanted to buy--we have Mario Kart, Boom Blox, and Wii Fit. I'm thinking of getting Toy Story Mania this weekend, though. :thumbsup2

Boom Blox is great! And there is a second one too.

I'm thinking of getting Toy Story Mania this weekend, though

Based on not so great reviews, we rented this to try it out first. We haven't played it yet....

My favorites are Mario Party 8 and Animal Crossing. DH loves Guitar Hero. I want to get Trivial Pursuit, and I'm waiting to rent Toy Story Mania to see if I like it.

Out of all our games, we play bowling the most and it came with it! LOL

We also like Super Mario Kart, Tiger Woods and Wii Party
