Tell me why

I know at MK and Epcot the bus terminals for POP/AoA were the last out of what 35? So I don't know where you're getting at saying that deluxe resorts are always the farthest terminal. I think at Epcot CBR and CSR were one of the top terminals which was nice. Overall I thought it was based on distance from the park? Because at AK CSR was always one of the last terminals.

We love Disney transport. Never thought any walk was that far at any resort we have stayed at. We don't stay at Deluxe much (only 2 times) in all our visits...but at the Mods and of course Value resorts...which we love POP and Music. The buses are perfect. Cant beat free and never any issues.

I think bus issues are not exclusive to any resort, or any levels such as value, moderate, or Deluxe. They all have their ups and downs. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that the bus station locations at the parks, periodically rotated. I guess I never thought it was really inconvenient, but if I need to be somewhere at a certain time I would user Uber/Lyft, Minnie Van.

We don't like the buses either...they are time consuming, and both H and I get carsick on them, which makes for a miserable experience. Our way of dealing with these issues is doing split stays between a MK resort and an EP resort. We go to the MK and AK during our MK resort stay and monorail/boat/walk to MK and Minnie Van to AK. Then we switch over to an EP resort and walk to both EP and HS. It works our great for us! Before we discovered the split stay trick, we used to rent a car and drive ourselves to the parks we couldn't walk/monorail/boat to, but doing the split stay works out cheaper and more efficiently, and we don't have the hassle of driving and dealing with traffic.

I take back this thread only because I was typing it out of frustration when we got dropped off at bus stop 32 when we got to HS but when we left to go back to the resort the bus stop for poly was actually 6. So I spoke too soon. No idea why we got dropped off somewhere else though.

Yes for some reason they dropped us off at the furthest part but when we left the park we ended up at 6

Meh, the buses are the buses, and it does not matter where i stay, I figure that the transportation is simply part of the deal.

I do not plan my lodging based solely on the parks I want to visit but on my preferences at the time and on who is accompanying me. Youngsters? We stay on the monorail. All adults? Epcot resorts. Animal lovers? AKL.

Everyone wants "their" resort to have convenient transportaion options, but no matter the location there is going to be convenience vs compromise.
I totally get that. I just think if someone is staying deluxe and spending so much and I’m staying value spending an 1/8 of the amount they should have some sort of perk like not having to walk as far to catch the bus or share with another resort

Pop and AoA tend to be the furthest out because they’re the only resorts afaik that use the articulated buses. So they need more space to park. At AK at least, the MK area Deluxes are literally the first stops when you get to the area from the park exit. Contemporary and then Poly/GF.

The “perk” is staying at a Deluxe.:confused3 I mean logistically speaking you have fewer guests at Deluxes than Values. Thus there is less demand for those buses. This “perk” you want would just lead to needless congestion. As a Deluxe guest, I wouldn’t consider sitting in traffic on a half empty bus, surrounded by similarly half empty buses going to other Deluxe resorts much of a perk. Is it irritating to share? Of course it is. That’s why I Lyft, lol. But like a lot of issues surrounding transportation at Disney, this kind of inherently goes with to running a public transit system in the small city that WDW is.

They only use the articulated buses for MK. Being far away at Epcot and DHS won't be such an issue now for Pop/AOA because the Skyliner is up and running.

But it is not how it works. Bus service is bus service. By paying more for a deluxe resort, you are paying more for the resort itself. And that is it.

Why do those that stay at deluxes and spend the most per night have the furthest bus stops at each park and the busses take longer to get there? What are the befefits to the values again? Staying at poly and the busses are horrendous and so far from the parks when getting dropped off. Stayed at art of animation for two nights before poly and the busses were great!
Having a great time and love poly so not pouting too much but some people spend $600 per night or more
We loved poly & have stayed there the last 3 trips. We used to choose if b/c we thought the transportation was one of the best! But, after last trip we won’t be staying there for a while. Transportation was horrendous & the monorail was down often. We also had other less than magical things happen. But we decided we won’t waste that money again for now.

Mk resorts costs the most b/c of the convenience in proximity to the monorail & mk. But, when the monorail is down for 1/2 your trip, then exactly what are you paying more for?? We have decided nothing! So we have decided to start staying cheaper & just use the savings to pay for transportation, if necessary. Also there may be fewer guests staying there, but there are many who come to eat at those deluxes. Worst transportation we had was staying at GF. Almost always had to stand b/c the bus picked up poly first & listening to so many talk around us who said they were not staying at GF or Poly was annoying to me while I stood on a packed bus for a resort I paid a lot to to stay at for “convenience”.

I know that now for sure after years of wdw trips. BUT I don’t think the average guest knows that esp when mk resort prices are the highest. I think it’s normal that ppl would assume there are added perks.

If you are at the Contemporary you can easily walk to the Magic Kingdom. Which to me, is worth quite a lot! And at the Poly you can walk to the TTC, or hop on a boat to the Magic Kingdom. The monorail isn't the only service nicer than a bus.

This is a something I never thought about when staying at the monorail resorts, LOL. I only take the buses as a last choice since I prefer the water transport and monorails. The buses are last not because of the walk back to the stop for me just the other two transportation possibilities are faster in general. Still there's something for everyone and if you prefer the transportation system of AoA, it's all good and less expensive too:).

Sorry for the price they charge per night all modes of transportation should be available.

If you have found a way to make stuff not break down ever, then you should share it.

And guess what, you are paying for a nicer resort. The rooms are bigger than the values, they have much nicer pool areas, sit down restaurants, some even have beaches. There is much more to the cost of a deluxe than the mode of transportation.

Maintaining equipment regularly before it becomes in a state of constant disrepair.

Or not charging more for something you can’t deliver on.

But that’s ok, they just get less money from us now.

All things other deluxes also have so why does mk area cost the most?

ETA: as far as nicer resorts...poly & CR are in need of some major room rehab so it’s not that either.
