Why do those that stay at deluxes and spend the most per night have the furthest bus stops at each park and the busses take longer to get there? What are the befefits to the values again? Staying at poly and the busses are horrendous and so far from the parks when getting dropped off. Stayed at art of animation for two nights before poly and the busses were great!
Having a great time and love poly so not pouting too much but some people spend $600 per night or more

I've not stayed at the values but I haven't ever felt that the buses at the deluxes were any farther from the parks than from any other resort. And the buses were never far from our room. We have declined to stay at the Poly, however, since we personally felt that the grounds were chaotically organized and poorly laid out. So perhaps it's not deluxes in general but the Poly in particular that is the issue.

If we stay at the Poly then we go where the monorail or boats go - if they don't go there then we don't go. The deluxe to stay at for HS is Beach Club/Boardwalk or Dolphin. The deluxe to stay at for the AK if Jambo. The deluxe to stay if you want to enjoy DS is SSR or OKW.

We just enjoyed a Adult girls trip at AK. We enjoyed DS 2 nights and, while the wait for the bus was very short, the trips was very long and that bus was hauling. One night we took the bus MK but didn't go in MK because we were there to do our own progressive tapas tour enjoying Tambo, Traders, Geyser Point Grille and TOWL. We had a bit of pixie dust from Bay Lake because the bus picked us up at 11p and received permission to take us directly back to Jambo or we'd've been stopping at 4 different places = nice guy.

No the longhouses are actually way closer than they looked on the map and I feel everything is much closer than I expected. It’s the busses at the parks. For example the poly bus gets dropped off even further than the park to park busses at HS. Wouldn’t there be little perks for spending so much per night like al the deluxes being the closest to the park entrance and then moderates and then values?

Tried booking mostly mk and Epcot days but we want to go to ak and hs too since we only come every two years. Would hate to fee we can only go to one park

IMO the bus service at SSR, OKW, YC/BC, BWV, Contemporary/BL, and WL (especially WL) is horrendous. AK has good bus service but it's just so far from everything except AK. And yes, we use to stay at AK and use the Bus Service to go to ESPN WWS for Spring Training - it takes a good 90/120 minutes (bus to AK, from AK to Pop, From Pop to WWS).

Might do better to boat over to MK and take a bus from there to BC/BW to enter from the back entrance. As for the HS ... just don't know.

I think it is about the sheer number of people that are transported to and from the values. I am assuming they have more buses going back and forth.

I get what you are saying in terms of bus stop locations but I don’t think any of them are really that far.

I am not a fan of the buses so we have resorted to taking Uber or Lyft to get to the parks. It worth the $10. The only difficult park is MK. If we are not staying at an MK resort...DVC owner..then I Uber to Grand Floridan and monorail over.

I'm with you. Even though I understand why they do it, it's a bit disappointing to have to share buses at a deluxe when you're paying so much money. Truthfully, our last couple of trips at CR and BWI, we just Ubered so we didn't have to mess with it.

I stay at Dvc, and the bus stops at MK are the reason I drive to MK. They are always so far away and then I seem to always have to wait for at least the second bus. I don’t want to *stand* at the end of a long MK day. I would rather be in a quick (IME) line for the boat to the parking lot, walk to the car, and then just head back without the masses.

I cannot fathom limiting the parks I go to based on where I’m staying.

Meh, the buses are the buses, and it does not matter where i stay, I figure that the transportation is simply part of the deal.

I do not plan my lodging based solely on the parks I want to visit but on my preferences at the time and on who is accompanying me. Youngsters? We stay on the monorail. All adults? Epcot resorts. Animal lovers? AKL.

Everyone wants "their" resort to have convenient transportaion options, but no matter the location there is going to be convenience vs compromise.

Yes. I think so too.

I think some people who stay deluxe do so to avoid the buses since they have the advantage of monorail, boats or the ability to walk to a park. I think some are more likely to take Uber, lyft or a minivan to a park when those other means of transportation are not available. So there are fewer people using the buses at deluxe resorts.

This is definitely us. I take the bus as the first step in my daily commute, nothing magical about it at all to me lol. Proximity to parks and multiple transportation options are our priorities. Last year we stayed at the Poly for 8 days and I can count the number of bus rides we took on one hand. All of them were coming back at night, but we always got dropped off first if sharing with GF. We relied on Lyft extensively though for DHS and AK and it was super convenient. They swarm around even in midday because so many people come to visit the Poly. We never had to wait for one.

On my first non Deluxe stay in August at POFQ (supposedly a good place for buses) I was over the buses on day 1. I even sprung for Minnie Vans a few times despite being solo.

I was not a fan of the bus situation at POFQ either!

I would rather take a bus from GF to Epcot than the Monorail any day of the week. The days we used the buses were a dream compared to the Epcot Monorail! In fact my family shared the bus with one other person on the way back from HS one night. LOL It took us an hour+ to get back to our resort from Epcot via the monorail this past trip. It was AWFUL!

I haven't stayed at Mods or Values so I can't comment on the buses. The real reason I like the Deluxes is that they appear better (in prints, or nowadays on screens) than the Mods and Values. If the buses are going to be horrible everywhere, then might as well be at a prettier resort. 😁

You've obviously never had to walk to the Pop or AOA bust stops, they are furthest at almost every park especially Epcot and MK. I've stayed at almost all the deluxe and all but one value and I can say buses always seem horrible at what ever resort you're at. You stay at one resort and it seems more buses go to the other stops twice as much. I stayed at GF twice over the summer, shares buses with Poly, and had no issues.

I was at Poly in May for a week and was very disappointed in the transportation. The ONLY convenient thing was going TO the MK. Even coming home from MK was awful b/c the allow anyone and everyone to get to get on the resort monorail so the line is crazy long. The boat is super slow. If they'd allow only registered guests of the monorail resorts to ride the resort loop at night, those resorts would be worth the premium, but as of now they aren't. My parents were staying at the CSR and literally got back to their room faster than I got back to Poly on the monorail. Ridiculous. And as the other person said, to/from Epcot is even worse. :(

We have stayed at the Pop the last 2 Summers and it seems that the Pop/AofA busses seem to be the furthest but we walked 25,000 steps per day at Disney......so what is another couple hundred in the scheme of things. I suspect that the Pop busses are at the end at the MK is so they can support the flex busses and the resort is one of the biggest with 2,800 rooms that the bus que needs more space to accommodate all the people at the end of the night.

I love the buses at the value resorts. I find them quick and efficient. But I avoid them like the plague when I stay deluxe. My longest bus waits have always been at deluxe resorts.
