How did she react being told the last minute?

Any other observations from people. I really want to make this the best Christmas present I can. Any suggestions about things i need to add to it? (Since most of you are women, what could i improve from the wife's point of view?)

How does your wife react to surprises and unexpected news? I am a big planner, and like to know what is going on well in advance so I would freak out big time. For me, having a nicely printed itinerary detailing everyday that you can hand to her would be so appreciated. I would suggest having a video camera rolling, if that hasn't been suggested already.
