Hiya... :bounce:

We are going to be at WDW for my 30th. Needless to say, I want to get the most out of this, the most expensive present to myself since the history of giving yourself a present! (is there a history of that?...well there is now. :teeth: )

I've booked the HDDR for the evening and we're planning on Breaky at Crystal palace at MK early so we have go to the MK on the day. what should I do before I go and while I'm there to be treated like the princess I am ::MinnieMo on my birthday?

Thanks!

Beth

I am giving myself a Disney trip for my birthday, too, but it's my 40th. I haven't planned anything extra, becaus the whole trip is so special to me. We are having dinner at CRT on my birthday, and I booked a Wishes cruise for earlier in the week.

Remember to go to town hall in the morning to get your birthday button. They are free! And the cm's wish you a happy b-day all day.

Usually we just go to a nice resturant and eat dinner, after a great day at wdw. But last year we decided to go to animal kingdom not magic kingdom (my usual b-day choice) and the entire lines sang happy b-day while we waited for the twirl ride in dino land! Lead by the cm's. I will never forget it. All the parks have individual b-day pins that are given out, to guest.

Have a great day. And happy 30th! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

So I'm sitting at work, 10am, Thursday, Feb 26th. My birthday is the 27th and have vacation that starts then too. Decided then and there what I really want to do for my birthday--my 50th!-- is see Wishes again.

Within 30 minutes had booked two plane tickets on a last minute fare deal for Friday - Tuesday. (It was the cheapest I've ever paid for Denver- Orlando nonstop.) And had booked a room w/Disney at an AP discount. The CM was rather amazed that the booking was for the very next day.

10:35, called my daughter and told her we're going tomorrow!

Just being there will be the best present. Being with DD the even better. Wishes was great and so nice of them to do that show just for my Birthday! LOL

I am also going for my 40th! I booked the HDDR for that night. Other than that I'll be wearing my button. Yes, this is a present to myself. I only invited "privaliged" people. My DH, DD,MIL,DM, and DN. I can't wait. For once I am looking foward to my B-day!

DH and I turn 30 this fall too-- 1 day apart (I'm approx 16 hrs older-- so I'm definetly wiser!). Anyhow, we are planning on doing WDW as our gift too. We will be going about a month before our actual b-days though. So we won't get buttons or mention it w/ PS's. The trip is really our own personal celebration I guess and it will be in lieu of gifts for one another this year.

We were w/ my BIL during his bday at WDW last year. It was our arrival day so we were all really tired from being at the aiport at 4am. We did dinner at Chef Mickey's and they brought a cupcake and sang happy bday-- it was really nice.

I had the most wonderful 50th birthday at WDW !!! As soon as I turned 49 I started thinking of what I wanted to do for the big
5-0 - I kept thinking that I wanted to have breakfast with Mickey!! There's a big spread in ages for my kids, so we hadn't all been on a vacation together in almost 10 years - since my oldest had been in high school. The cast of characters changed several times over the months of planning and we suffered a tragic death in our family, but in the end my 3 kids, my new granddaughter (5 mos), and DDs best friend (and mine!) who had moved to Fla all started out the trip - DH joined us two days before my b'day - my old (when we were 19!!) Fla roommate and her family, my brother and his family and other DDs best friend all came in on my b'day as we switched over the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal.

Definitely wear your birthday button if you think it would be fun to get lots of birthday greetings/special little recognitions throughout the day(s) - DDs friend also celebrated his birthday and we loved the attention (especially from all the cute, young CMs:smooth: ) - we had dinner at O'Hana's the night before and requested a window seat and watched Wishes from there - magical !! On my birthday morning we had a really fun breakfast at Chef Mickeys and I got lots of special attention from the characters!! Then we moved over to HRH and met the rest of the group arriving for my birthday dinner at Mamma Della's - I still break out into a little cold sweat when I think of the extravagance, but everything was perfect and my family will always remember this wonderful trip - and Mom turning 50, swinging her napkin in the air with Mickey!!:cake: - Enjoy!!!

Just relax and enjoy a special day in a special place. For my 40th b-day this past February, I had a truly magical day. I didn't plan a thing, but the cast members made it very special. My brother, sister and I were chosen to be grand marshalls for the afternoon parade. That was totally awesome! We got to meet another very nice family. We waved our hands off. You can't pre-plan or buy that kind of magic. Thanks disney magic fairy!

Get a button at all the parks if you visit them. All the parks Guest Relations have different buttons for birthdays! ::yes::

We will be celebrating DH's birthday next trip. I have a character breakfast planned and a nice dinner at Citrico's. I am hoping to slip into Town Hall in MK the day before and pick up the birthday button (I thought they cost $5?) and make him wear it for the character breakfast. LOL!

Then we're going to BB. Don't think he'll wear the button on his bathing suit!

The buttons were all free, Harambe -

And a thought - be sure and mention the birthday on your dining reservations - we celebrated our friend's birthday (26) at CP and there was a birthday card at the table for him, signed by all the pooh characters (his faves!) - the waitress also brought him a cupcake with a candle and sprinkled him with "pixie dust" (confetti) - then he joined all the little kids and the characters in the birthday march around the restaurant - the video shakes up and down I was laughing so hard, but he had a ball - got to love a man who's that secure!:smooth:

At Chef Mickey's they put out a special Birthday placemat for me- just the little bits of magic that made our celebrations so memorable!

I spent my 32nd birthday in WDW last Dec. Heres an abbreviated account of my trip report for that day.

We started out bright and early, with me wearing my Birthday button. We asked for the front of the monorail from the Poly and got it, however DS threw a temper tantrum about having his stroller folded up so I ended up in the regular car with him.

We arrived at MK before 7:00 and entered upon early opening. We rode Buzz 2x, TTA, and Astro Orbiter before heading to the Bake Shop for breakfast. We walked down Main St got on the train and took it to Toon Town. After waiting a while its was now 9:00 and TT was opening. We went to Goofys Barnstormer where we met Goofy & Pluto, and they even rode with us. We then did the Tiki Birds, Goofys Jamboree, and the River Boat.

After the rides but before we staked out a spot for the Christmas parade, we took DS to the barber shop for a haircut with some color and Mickey pixie dust.

After the parade we left the MK and returned to the Poly where the kids could rest, since Cam wasnt feeling too well. We got a bite to eat (take out sticky wings from Kona Cafe) and chilled in the room for a while.

When it was time for dinner we went to the Kona Cafe. The cake my mother had ordered to be delivered to me here was missing so we were given a complimentary cake with tropical flowers on it. After dinner we hung out at the Tambu Lounge for a while before heading to the Poly beach for Wishes. We grabbed lounge chairs, had a drink and watched the fireworks and EWP It was the perfect ending to an almost perfect day. Even with DS not feeling too well, we still had lots of magic. :D

Hi Tinkerbeth. I'm going to WDW for my 30th birthday too. I am not handling it with any sort of grace so I figured where else can I go and not feel older? I am going for 2 full weeks. I was originally going to do the Richard Petty driving experience but when I decided to buy into DVC I justified it by saying I wouldn't do the driving experience and that would cover the down payment.

For my actual birthday day I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. I was hoping MNSSHP was going on that night, but it's not (Oct 27). I definitely want to go somewhere nice for dinner and see Illuminations. I think I'll spend the morning at the MK riding my favorite rides, then go to the resort (SSR) to have lunch and swim, maybe get a massage at the spa. Rest up, then have dinner and see Illuminations. Then go to Pleasure island and hang out at the Adventurer's Club. That's what I'm thinking today anyway. It may change in the next 6 months.

My birthday and my twins birthday are on May 15th. We went to WDW last year and spent the day at Magic Kingdom and had dinner at Chef Mickey's. This year we are doing the same!

Our family and my brother's family were at WDW for his 40th. We went to the Rose & Crown for dinner (told the waitress on the sly that is was his birthday, so the wait staff good naturedly abused him all through dinner) While we were waiting to be seated, I went to the gift shop all the way in back and asked one of the staff if I could request the Beatles "Birthday" to be sung at the next British Invasion show after we finished dinner. She said she could do better than that. Right before the show started, the girl that I had spoken with called by brother up to the stage and told him that because it was his birthday it was his job to introduce the band. He was so surprised!!!! They gave him a certificate and the band posed with him for pictures. Then they played "Birthday" for him. That was ten years ago and he still talks about it and how it was our best trip ever!!!!

We went 2 years ago and celebrated my 34th birthday at the HDDR. We had a great time!!

My birthday was just this past Monday. I had a great day. We got up and went to MK in the AM and due to the rain, got to ride everything we wanted without much waiting at all. At around 2:00 we left and stopped at Chili's for lunch which was great. When I went to the bathroom with my daughter, my husband arranged for my favorite desert the chocolate volcano. Then we went to MGM where my DS6 rode the Tower of Terror and the RNR for the first time! We decided to hang around for Fantasmic and since the show had been cancelled the previous night due to rain and thunder showers guest services reissued the passes from the Fantasmic dinner package we had done the night before. When we got back to the room my mom went and picked up a cake for me at the food court of Pop Century and the kids surprised me with some homemade birthday cards. My husband was extra nice all day and congratulated me on planning a great trip. That was probably the best part. For once it seemed like he really appreciated all the time I put into planning. All in all it was a great day.

Breakfast at Ohana, then went to a park, I don't recall which one, but it's in my trip report :) Dinner at California Grill, followed with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne at the room.
