I had the onion soup, then the fish & chips. I enjoyed the soup, and the fish sticks were tasty enough that I couldn't stop eating them even when I was full. By the time dessert came around, I was too stuffed to even try eating my chocolate cake. In fact, none of us could eat our dessert, so we got them to go. I also had a couple of Cokes.
This was on 12/12 at 5:00pm or so. We had eaten lunch at the Plaza Inn, around 1pm, and I had gorged on the wonderful fried chicken dinner there; frankly, by the time our PS time of 4:20pm came for Ariel's, we really weren't that hungry. At 6pm, we had left DCA and were entering DL. The crowd had gathered for the parade, so we decided to immediately board the train and take it to New Orleans Square for some rides. We waited and waited for the train, but it just never would come (something about it being stuck behind the parade). At about 6:45, about an hour after we left Ariel's, I... um.... had to go.
I spent the next 45 minutes in the bathroom, while my poor family waited for me at the train stop. I don't know for sure it was the food at Ariel's... maybe it was just too much fried food in one day. For the record, my wife ate the same exact thing as me, and both of our kids had the kids'-sized fish & chips. None of them had the problems I had.
I was pretty much afraid to eat the rest of our trip, fearing a repeat occurrence. I never did eat my chocolate cake from Ariel's (my wife took care of that for me).
But everything tasted good!
