Tell me the FIRST thing you're gonna do when you go to DL

....And then, after the AP purchase (hopefully) and the PhotoPass picture by the pumpkin, we begin the slow mosey down Main Street. Assuming I have already eaten breakfast, I save Blue Ribbon Bakery for later. But I DO stop in the China Closet because they always have super cute holiday souvenirs, and I ooooh and aaaah over the items even if I can't buy them! And, how can I forget? I start scanning the ground on Main Street to find those telltale 'fake gum' wads that are actually parade float location sensors. People will look at me strangely as they see me crouching down to get a closer look at what appears to be chewed gum stuck to the ground! Hee hee.

You can probably just make one stop. When we got our APs we told them we were coming back for our anniversary and they said we could go to back to them at the bank or city hall. They showed us the anniversary pins. So I would assume they would also have birthday there too. Be sure to ask.

When we go on Jan.2 we will head directly to the HM to see NBC. Second will be IASW. :)

Thanks for the info :) This will be the first time I'll buy/have an AP, so it's good to know I can probably do both things at once.

My bee line is to visit the wildest crew of buccaneers to ever set sail the seven seas, then I go to visit my most beloved Master Gracey at his mansion, that some say, is haunted. It is exactly in that order, first I go to Indy, for a fast pass, then I set sail with the pirates of the Caribbeano, (I like to add the o, sometimes, just for the fun of it) then my most beloved mansion, then back again, then I venture forth from there. :)

Us too! It's a family tradition to ride POTC first. It's always first, no matter what. Then Haunted Mansion. From there, it's free game. Depends on what the kids want. :)

Probably Nemo because the WHOLE family wants to go.:scared:

For some strange reason, I always like to start off in Adventure land. So our first ride is always Jungle Cruise.

To get even more excited the first thing we do every year is go on the train around the entire park, just build up the excitement, look at everything, smell everything, talk about what were gonna do.

Then we get of on Mian Street and go right to Indiana Jones!

After that, its whatever happens! :)

TiggerNZ,

Will this be your first visit to the United States? if so, WELCOME! if not, well welcome anyway! :) and good for you! your first visit to Disneyland, remember to go to city hall, (in DL) and ask for your first visit button, and if anyone will be celebrating their birthday, ask for a birthday button too, for birthdays, it is my understanding that you can receive a call from none other himself, that most famous and beloved doggy of all time, Goofy! :)
Do not forget to collect fast passes for those rides that you are interested in visiting, and of course, that have fast passes available.

Hi Gisele and thanks for the welcome (love the screen name btw, my favourite ballet ever)
It's not my first trip to the States, have spent a good few weeks/months there - but first time to DL and I am so excited.
It will be my sons 6th birthday (and my birthday too) about a week before we fly out, so the whole thing is a bit of a celebration, both our first time, and both birthdays ...... and the whole thing is a major surprise for him too - going to be great.
Thanks for the badge tip, I will certainly stop by and get one of those. I will look at the fast passes too need to find out which ones are on it. To be honest I really just want to enjoy the time and do whatever my son wants - so no plans for mad rush rounds - just chilling and relaxing...... and a little :cheer2:

We always ride Pirates first! gotta love that ride :thumbsup2 heading back Nov. 5-11 with DDs Tap group. Doesn't get any better than being at DL AND having DD (5) tap there:cloud9: I'm sure this time I'll be the one with lots of tears in my eyes going through the tunnel, I'll be taking it all in for the wonderful memories about to happen.:lovestruc

I always stop at the restroom first. The one behind the old bank that is now the AP office. Always. My poor husband. Then we saunter up Main Street and stop in a shop or two (I have to know what is new since last time). Once we get to the top of Main Street, there is no plan. But usually it's Pirates.

Ok Ok, I admit it. I have to stop at the restroom first too. :rotfl: That same one. My earlier answer assumed bathrooms were a given. By the time we drive there, park, take the tram, and wait at the gate my morning cup of coffee has caught up with me.

Add me to the teary eyed list. I'm the lame that sees the sign at the tunnels and my eyes start watering. I've been countless times and it never fails that I get emotional. Same with when we're leaving.. But that's a different story...

Anyways, if we are celebrating a birthday we head to City Hall first, but if not we usually have PS's at Carnation Cafe...

This upcoming trip we don't, so I don't know what where we'll head first, maybe Blue Ribbon?

Since we go so often we don't really have a must do ride...

Well, for us it depends on if we get there AT opening or not.

I'm a fast pass freak...especially on busy days, I MUST have a large collection before the crowds arrive so our afternoons are not spent in lines.

Typically, first ride is BUZZ. Depending on FP return time, I may catch one here before we ride. Otherwise, I send DH over to Space to collect the FP.

Anyways, our trip always tends to start off in Tomorrowland. Then we head to Fantasyland for all the "Disneyland" rides as my DD says. She thinks "Fantasyland" is "Disneyland" and asks all day "when can we go back to Disneyland" once we have left that area of the park.

we'll be in the park on thursday 10/9...so we're going to do MM that morning...so we'll head to FL...Peter Pan here we come! :thumbsup2

It depends on who I am with and what time of the day we arrive. If its rope drop, then I head straight to Peter Pan. Later in the morning, Space Mountain to grad a fast pass then ride Buzz. In the later part of the afternoon or evening, I hop on the train and then head over to POTC.

Gee, how did I miss this thread last night?!

Wow...let me tell you that I have that image in my mind of walking through the turnstiles and under the arch and voila! There I am, looking at the giant pumpkin on Main Street. That is when the Great Snowball Effect that Pink Budgie speaks of hits me. That is when whatever that 'thing' is that I am convinced Disney pumps into their air seeps into my nostrils and takes over! It may be Pixie Dust, it may be a special chemical of some kind - whatever it is, it captures me right on Main Street, and I get that excited-as-a-little-child feeling all over again. Like my friend said, every time she starts walking down Main Street, she feels like it is the first time all over again. Everything seems possible. You want to do everything, buy everything, see everything, ride everything, eat everything, take pictures of everything....and come to DLR 5 more times in the next year!

So what will I do first? Well, IF my plan goes the way I am hoping it will, with no further complications, then in 5 days when I arrive:cool1: , the first thing I will do is head to the Bank to get my photo taken for an AP!!! That is my plan. IF, for some reason, the AP is not possible on this trip, then I suppose that the very first thing we will do is stop at the Mickey Pumpkin and get a PhotoPass picture taken. But even before we visit the Bank or the Pumpkin, probably the first thing I will do is breathe a big sigh of relief. This trip has almost been cancelled a few different times, and I almost thought it was just not going to happen at all. So I will be so thankful to be back at DLR that I will just have to sort of look around, take it all in, and convince myself that I AM actually there! And then we visit the Pumpkin!!!

I got chills just reading your post. I am so happy for you that your trip never got cancelled and that you will be there in 4 days!! How very fun!!!! Have a great time!

We always go to Pirates first. Don't why, it is just the way we have always done it.

DH said "Tower of Terror", and then grinned at me.

He hated that ride as much as I did.

Our last visit we headed to DCA first, and went on GRR. I think we should do that again for our trip in March.

:)

Of course, DH's most favorite ride is Soarin. My favorite and DS's favorite is Splash Mountain.

:goodvibes We always ride the Astro Orbiters first.. Cheesy, huh? but on our first ever trip, we were a tad overwhelmed by everything... and it was the first thing we saw. my dd was only 18 months old... and the rest of the trip that was her favorite ride! So now every trip, we start off with the Astro Orbiters. And we try to finish each trip with it.

If it's right at opening, we usually head to Peter Pan before it gets crowded. And even at that time of day, the line is about a 10 to 15 minute wait. Not bad. Also try and get to Space Mountain for a Fast Pass and maybe jump on it when the time says 5 to 10 minutes.
