Tell me something I don't know about POP!

Count us among those who love POP. We stayed there for the first time this past May and have already booked our room for January. :thumbsup2

We stayed in the 50's section, top floor, building 1 and found it very quiet and very close to everything. The walk to Classic Hall was only about 2 minutes and about 3 to the bus stops.

If any one is interested, we have pictures of POP posted on our trip report. Feel free to take a peek.

I am heading over to check out your trip report. Glad to hear that you liked POP! I am getting so excited - 30 days to go!

kindakrazy2,

Thank you so much for starting this thread!!
We are also going to POP for the first time in Sept. (17 days to go!!!!) :cool1:

I haven't read through the whole thread yet, but what I have read has been excellent tips and things not to miss!!!

Thanks, also, to all of you who have added your favorite things about POP!!

Thats were we stayed and liked it a lot, peaceful, close to the car park and classic hall and just generally a nice location.

There is a ping pong table near the 60's pool. You can buy balls for 50cents at the pool bar.

Do you have to "rent" the paddles? Or are they just sitting out? Just curious if all you need is to buy the balls to play.

Hi Everyone

thanks for starting such a great thread. I am so excited for our January 2008 trip, 11 nights at pop.

I just read the whole thread and got some great tips especially about the walk to CBR and the tips on food.

Hi,
Sorry to ask this again, but does anyone know if the TV remote has an auxillary, ( AUX or a blank station when flipping the stations)? We have a special video phone that uses the TV for viewing and it uses the internet also. We want to bring this with us so we can use sign language to our parents, who are deaf, and be able to call them. If the TV's can play DVD's players it may work. At home, we change on the remote to "input". Sorry for this strange question, but everyone on this Board know so much. We are staying at the POP in Oct. First time on site. Can't wait!!! Thank you for any answer.

this is such a great thread - looking forward to being at Pop in october!

I am so excited to be staying at Pop!!! I just changed over from All Star Movies and I am so glad!!! Please keep the tips coming!!!!!

If no one knows, you can call POP's front desk, and ask them. Maybe even tell them why you need it, they may make special arrangements. I wont know till I get there Sept 13th.

another sept POP er here, found this thread and am getting excited about going on the 15!:thumbsup2 we are driving down from tx and just received our papers today. we hope to get in to POP early in the morning of our first day. do you all know if there is a check in time that we need to stay with to get our room, or will we have to wait around until that time to settle? sorry if this seems alittle silly, but is my first time in a report and don't know all the rules yet. thanks

Check in I believe is 3 or 4 but if you get there early they will check you in if your room is not ready they will give you a card with a number to call for your room and or room and room number!

I just read all 15 pages of this. Great thread!!!

We are leaving in one week and staying at Pop for 10 nights with free dining (3rd time for free dining and 4th time staying at Pop).

I have to second some of the thing I love about Pop - the frozen coke, the nachos, the buses are great and the overall theming of the resort.

Thanks for getting me too excited to sleep tonight. :hippie:

The official check-in time is 3:00 pm but a few years ago during our October trip we spent a night in Tampa for Howl-O-Scream. When we went back to Disney the following day we got to the resort shortly before noon and they had a room ready for us and let us check in right away. When they were still checking for the room, they told us that if they didn't have anything ready they could just hang on to our luggage for us while we went to one of the parks.

Hope this helps...have a great trip!

YEAH!! :yay:

Just got finished reading all 15 pages of this thread.
I copied & pasted all the tips & suggestions - I thought it would be a fun read for DH & kids on the plane!!

This is also a shameless attempt to BUMP the thread!
Anyone just return from POP with any more news or tips?!?!?!?

Can't believe our trip is just 15 short days away!! :hourglass

I love the fact that they have fresh brewed iced tea that is unsweetened in the food court and you can fill up in your mug.

Great to know about the unsweetened iced tea.....that pretty much makes up my mind about buying the refillable mug. Getting one for my DN for the frozen cokes......:rolleyes1 shh....they are a surprise :-)
