Tell me something I don't know about POP!

very cool about the cranes and the turtles! My kids love turtles!

i had no idea there was a ping pong table! we'll have to play a game or two, sounds like fun!

Can you see fireworks from anywhere on site?

We were in the 50's building 3 facing the pool on the 3rd floor. DH took DS for a walk around the building at night and he said that if you went back toward the lake side of the building you could see Epcot fireworks. He thought that you would be able to see them even better if you were on the
4th floor. In looking at a map you probably could see them from the 60's building 4, again lakeside 3rd or 4th floor. Maybe someone who has been in those building could confirm for you. Have a great time! It is our favorite resort:banana:

Very cool about the fireworks from the resort! We get in about 7pm the first night so it would be a great start to our holiday to see the fireworks from there!

I can't wait!

I wish this thread had started before we went. But, I've got a couple that I haven't seen yet....

Frozen Coke machines!! Fill the mug half with Coke and then top it off with frozen Coke instead of ice and then head to the pool!

Get the Parmasean chicken penne with marinara sauce instead of Alfredo. We had this twice while there. It was very good.

The BIG sundae from the ice cream place is a snack credit. My DS and I easily split this huge delight - 3 scoops of ice cream and a bunch of toppings.

Walking the path along the lake late at night. The bridge is beautiful and the lighting of the icons and stairs is great. It is very peaceful and you'll see the bunnies.

We stayed in 80's building 9 facing the 70's building 10. The courtyard between the 2 buildings is so well treed that we hardly noticed the other building and it was so quiet.

Even though the computer pool isn't as "hip" as hippy dippy or the bowling pin pools our kids loved it and could stayed in there for hours.

Wow, I wanna go back!

Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed your stay at POP! We can't wait to go there! Thanks for the tip about the big sundae being one snack credit, my dd loves ice cream so this will be a must-do for us! Walking the path along the lake late at night sounds like it would be :cloud9: after a busy day at the parks with two likely to be overly-excited and overwhelmed children! Can't wait! :yay:

We're going in just a few days and I've requested 80's section. Hope it's as great an experience as yours!

Hey for the coffee pot thingy....there is a fridge swap which includes toaster and kettle, I will look for the post and let you know. I am using it July 21-Aug 4.

Do any of you newly returned POPers have any new tips or tricks for us?

Still counting down....under 100 days now!

Has anyone mentioned the yo-yo lessons in the lobby? Not sure how often they do it, but it was pretty cool.

Also, the pools provide lifejackets for kids to wear in the pool. It was a nice option for our semi-swimming DD7 and DS4. You kind of had to fight for them at the Hippy-Dippy Pool, but they were in abundance at the Computer Pool. Beach balls were also available at the pool.

Beware ... Some of the bushes emit a rather foul odor. DW compared the aroma to stinky feet.

Yo-yo lessons is new to me! That would be so much fun!

Wonder what the story is with the stinky bushes....or maybe I don't want to know! :scared:

The Stinky bushes are probably boxwoods. I think they smell like Old home-perms. I have never been able to figure out why people insist on planting them.

Yuck!!! The only time I remember stinky bushes is at MK going out of Minnie or Mickey's House oh it takes your breath away as you are not expecting it .......:rotfl2:

I'm reviving this thread to see if any newly returned POP'ers have any new tips or tricks for us!

Good idea! I've really enjoyed this thread so far. Here's another bumpity bump.....:)

Without reading any of the other posts, here's my secret... the only true Hidden Mickey I've been able to find at Pop is in the mural in the Kid's TV Room that's right off the lobby. It's in the fishbowl.

There's a Hidden Mickey in the ceiling of the food court seating area too!

If you're staying in the 70's buildings, look for the bunnies! They're always out at night and don't seem too shy. They'll let you stand and watch them from a short distance away. Actually, you will likely see rabbits anyplace at Pop, but there seems to be a large family of them that lives in the 70's section.

The minute I read the first post I thought of the bunnies in the 70's section. Then I see the second poster thought the same thing!

We saw the cutest little brown bunny on the grass by Building 10 and he even stayed still enough so we could take his picture. This was at about 1:00 a.m. when we were coming back from MVMCP on December 21. Bunny was eating wet grass and he even showed us how high he could jump! He didn't seem to mind us getting within about 5 feet of him but he sure kept an eye on us the whole time we were looking at him! As you can see from my screen name, bunnies are my favorite animals. Here's picture of the WDW bunny:
