Tell me something I don't know about POP!

Thanks kandmwedding! I am so going to look for it now that you have told me! I can't wait!

Food court ceiling too! Very cool! Thanks calypso!

bennythepug - you are so close! Have a great trip and bring back some tips and tricks for us!

Thanks for the photo Luv Bunnies! I love bunnies too and they are on my "must photograph" list at disneyworld! I'll check out the '70s at night!

I'm reviving this thread to see if any newly returned POP'ers have any new tips or tricks for us!

I got back from the Pop a couple of weeks ago. It was GREAT! Honestly, I don't think I have a bad thing to say about it.

My tip: Computer Pool and Bowling Pin pools are way less crowded than the Hippy Dippy. We stayed in room 9325 in the 80's section. This is a great room. It's very quiet. It's right around the corner from the elevators and the ice machine. It's close to parking. Computer Pool is just a short elevator ride away, but there's no pool noise. Plus, the air conditioner works great! Never had any trouble keeping the room ice cold. We kept it on 68 at night and 75 during the day.

Oh, to just live at Disney all the time! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Thanks for all the tips everyone. I am leaving in 22 days and can't wait. I have been there once already but didn't know most of the info on here...lol!!

 :yay: :yay: I seriously cannot believe that my trip with my two girls is just around the corner!!! Thanks for the great tips - can't wait to get there!

Hi there, not sure if this is the right thread or not,,, but here goes,, I read somewhere that the values would be having hairdryers installed in the rooms, does anyone know if this has happened?? I'm hoping it has otherwise I'm gonna have to pack one and buy a voltage converter to use it :(
TIA x

You can leave your hair dryer at home, they have them in all the rooms.
Have a great time.

Yes they ahve them but they are really weak! Not much power at all, so be prepared for that. Basically goo for a fluff dry or someone with reall yshort hair. I didn't bring mine, and my hair is medium length and not thick, and it took forever to dry. Even my thin haired little girl took awhile to dry. Next time I am bringing my own.

Oh nooo,,, both me and DD15 have long hair,, I'm not too bothered about drying my hair as I tie it up mostly especially when the weather is hot, but DD is VERY fussy as far as her hair is concerned,, we are still at logger heads about the straighteners,, she really wants to take them, but as they need such a high wattage I would have to buy a heavy duty voltage converter which would cost the equivalent of $80, and it weighs over 3kg,, which is not good when we are only allowed to take 20kg of baggage each from the UK for a 15 stay :o... I would claim ignorance about the strength of the hairdryers, but I don't know if I can put up with 2 weeks of complaining once we get there,,,, dilemmas, dilemmas :(

Perhaps we should start up a hairdryer swap lol

I never tried the hairdryers on my own hair (rarely use one as even the strongest take forever on my long, thick, curly hair.....not to mention the frizz they cause), but I used them on our shoes (after Kali) and on DD's hair. Maybe it depends on which one you get.....it seemed strong enough to me for what we used it for. Another option may be to stop at a Walmart or such store and buy one here?

Perhaps buy one in the states?? And then you will have it again for future trips?
I think on groovy pop thread there is an area where people discussed how weak too. Some didn't mind them ,but most didn't care for them. If you aren't fussy then they should be fine, but for straightening they will never work.

So it was the bushes that made that AWFUL smell!?? Haha it was terrible, we always took the long way around the building to our room because the staircase was right by where the stink was. I have this incredible sense of smell (which in this case was unwanted!) and the smell made me feel sick.

I've seen people posting about bunnies and ducks, but nothing about all the tiny tiny lizards. I live up in Michigan, so i'm not used to seeing anything like those. The path that leads from the 90's parking lot between the 70's and Classic Hall had just tons of these little lizards running around. As soon as you got close though, they darted back into the greenery around the path. Then at night, all the snails wanted to come out and cross the path. Unfortunately, people paid no attention to where they walked and they were smashed everywhere. Here's the one that was heading across the path that I picked up and moved to the other side, attempting to save it from being smashed. :snail:

Okay, no photo. Says my post count is too low to do that :confused3

Last year my son made it his mission to catch one of those tiny lizards,, well he did catch one in the end at BB, but the little thing bit him and was hanging off his finger for a good few mins,,, maybe now he has learned to leave the poor little things alone :)

Buy a straightener too - you can get them pretty cheap at Wal-mart

We were opening day guests at POP. We had a king preferred view room, but to be honest, I didn't think the view was that great being on the back side of the building. We did leave a :) hidden in the room.

If you see a :) on the door, we were there first! Maggie

For anyone who has stayed in the 80's section how far is the walk to the food court. DF wants to stay there because it has the whole pac man thing going on.
