Tell me something I don't know about POP!

After midnight, the gian Moglie and Bleu come to life and go swimming in the Hippie Dippie Pool. There are over 40 foot so they can't fit in the pool, they just soak their feet.

EXCELLENT!!! Can't wait! :rotfl:

It'll dye more than your tongue.....

Uh oh! I think I need to take it off my "must try" list then!

We are booked into a preferred room only because we couldn't get a regular room. I'm bummed because I wanted a lake view room and none of the preferred rooms face the lake so either I don't get the room I want or I just paid more for a room location I am not going to use.

I am going to keep calling to see if I can get a regular room but I guess for free dining I can't complain.

You might try what I did on our trip this past March. I had booked a preferred room in the 60s building only because I did not want to walk that far to the buses and the food court. I had tried to change it back to a regular room but was told they were all booked. I really wanted to save that $10 a day. I had requested that my room not face the pool in my fax a few days before our arrival. When I went to check in I mentioned this again and the CM said all preferred rooms faced the pool.
I asked him very nicely if there was a room in the 60s building facing away from the pool as I would rather have the quiet than the preferred room. He did some checking and I got what I wanted, 60's, 4th floor, facing away from the pool and it was the regular price. I didn't walk any further than those people staying around the corner who paid for a preferred room.

Thanks for that idea Jaymie. I'll try if we can't get a regular room as we get closer.

Can anyone confirm that all preferred rooms face the pool? My friends that are going with us to Disney have a 1 1/2 year old. They want to be able to bring the baby monitor so they can lay by the pool while he takes a nap. The only way they would do this is if they're on the bottom level right next to the pool.

No they aren't. But you can request it. It doesn't mean you wil lget it ,but a better chance at least.

POP for us next week also, staying for ten days. WE have stayed at the Poly and CBR but for us POP is ok sleep, shower back to parks.. Allstars was nice also just don;t like how the bus stops at all three resorts. One bus for Pop. 6 days left until we leave for WDW-AWESOME.... PACKING THE BAGS NOW.....

Hands down the best value resort at Disney.

The grounds are beautiful, the arcade is amazing, shopping and eating are far above par - even for Disney! Since we needed to add a night at the last minute on our recent trip, we decided to move to POP and see if it might be a resort we would want to revisit. I'm almost upset we didn't stay there our entire stay and save the money we spent at the Swan.

We were in the 50's building which is a short walk to the main hall and bus stop. And best of all, the resort got our DS's seal of approval. He loved playing in the arcade, taking his dad on in a game of Twister, and splashing around in the water fountains.

All in all, a terrific experience.....one we will definitely do again!

my most favorite thing about pop is the Tie die cheesecake!!! it is soooooooo good!!!

Thanks Tink! Glad to hear it has the kid seal of approval!

Hey Tanya - about the cheesecake - I have heard ugly rumors of it dying certain things frightening colours. :rolleyes1 Say it isn't so!

We have our POP room booked for Aug 26-Sept 1 and just put in our request for Building 1 standard (which is in the 50's right?)....my ds7 & dd3 loved the bowling pin shaped pool. Was this a good choice for us? I was leaning more toward building 10 in the 70's because it looked closer to the food and buses....so I guess I am looking for someone that has stayed in the 50's building to let me know if they liked it or not :) Thank you!

We stayed in the 50's... away from the pool area and loved it.... we had a nice view of the lake and the 60's building...

I'm so excited I found this thread! We're going to Pop for the first time in August and I was on the fence about it. I like the mod resorts but we got a wicked good deal on our room at Pop. And, my two small daughters are thrilled at the kiddy pool. Thanks for all the advice. You've all gotten me so excited for our trip! BTW, maybe bring a 4 cup coffee maker with you. I MUST have coffee in my room so we're bringing our own coffee maker. :surfweb:

I was thinking about bringing a small coffee pot but I am worried about the carafe getting broken in the luggage. Anyone got any ideas on how not to break a pot on an international trip?

I'm not sure if this would work...I've never tried it with a coffee pot, but I did bring home some breakables from Europe years ago (with success!!)

What if you stuff the inside with socks, underwear, a t-shirt, etc. so that it is completely filled? Then wrap the outside with a shirt or something AND some bubblewrap. Then wrap it with another piece of a heavier clothing. I would also recommend putting it in the center of the suitcase with a lot of soft clothes surrounding it.

Have a great trip!:)
