Tell me it's okay NOT to go to MVMCP....

Yes, for me the cookies are a huge disappointment. I would like to see them offer some good choc chip cookies or something along those lines.

It was even worse if you're diabetic. I had to wait for a special cup of cocoa (very tiny, too), and they didn't offer a cookie. The whole thing was very stingy. Years ago, mid-1990s, I took my DD10 to MVMCP (whatever it was called then) and you got a visit with santa and a photo. It's one of our favorite pics from her childhood. Now a pee-cup full of cheap cocoa. Again, meh.

I agree with many of the other posters. We did it once and will never go again. Crazy crowds, long lines for sub-par cookies/hot chocolate, etc. Yes, the lights are beautiful, the snow is cool, and it was fun to sit on Santa's lap in MK, but we did that once and don't need to go again.

Even with the mixed reviews we are planning to attend our first MVMCP this year. I debated since it is so expensive vs adding an extra day to our tickets, but my boys really want to see the snow and santa. Plus it is my little one's birthday so this is his special present--he thinks the party is for him LOL! I was swayed with the hope that ride lines will be short(er) than normal so we can ride multiple times on Buzz, PP, Speedway, etc with minimal wait times (less than 20 mins?). My kids have food allergies so likely the cookies/cocoa will be off limits. We've done MNSSHP twice and really loved it--hoping for a similar experience! But based on the reviews here I think this will be a one and done experience.

We did it once... We had fun but don't feel the need to do it this time. It was really crowded and we didn't feel like we got our money's worth. Don't feel bad for not going.

I'm a little nervous having heard so many negative reviews too. But I love the holidays, so I think it'll be worth it for me just for the atmosphere. It seems like one of those things where if you aren't looking to get a certain amount out of it for your "money's worth" it might be more enjoyable (I know the tickets are expensive and I'm not saying it isn't reasonable to have this expectation, it's just this is our first trip and probably last for a long time so I can justify the extra expense a little easier). I have read there are apple slices as an alternative to cookies now? But I'm not really interested in the treat stations anyway. I'm excited to see the parade and fireworks (and the snow! I know it's not anything major but I loved the snow on Hollywood Boulevard during the Frozen event at HS so I think that'll be enough for me), and meet some characters not usually available (my husband's a huge Scrooge fan), plus some of the fun party stuff like the stage and castle shows. If we can do all or most of these, I'll be happy :)

OP... don't even give it a second thought.

We flew down for 3 nights last year to see the Osbourne lights and go to the Christmas party. When we got there, we got busy doing other things and opted to skip the party. We didn't regret it and had a wonderful time. :goodvibes

There's plenty of other Christmas there to enjoy. Don't feel guilty.

I will say for those that are worried... walking down a quiet Main Street under the snow truly felt magical to me. It was worth every penny to me and I'm glad I did it.

We all value different things - for instance, I can't imagine spending money on a CRT reservation but it doesn't mean those that do are wrong.

We go at a time that it's always going and we've never been. Have no interest! Especially for that price and as crowded as people say it is.

May wife and I attended the first MVMCP last year, with four friends. It was sold out, and the six of us had an AMAZING time. Lines for rides were nearly nonexistent. The longest wait we had was for Space Mountain; less than 15 minutes. it was quite possibly the highlight of the trip (or close to it, anyway).

There were plenty of long lines, though; mostly for character greets, which we, as a group of six adults, had no interest in.
