Csey's hot dogd have gone to wheat buns only. I'm hearing that they fall apart and are crumbly. True????? ANYONE BEEN LATELY????:sad2:

Yes Disney is switching to all wheat buns. Some are reporting crumbling, some are saying that they're white with wheat flecks and taste the same.

Here's a thread about the buns from earlier this week.

Here are two more threads that are discussing the general displeasure of Disney 'Healthy' Dining overall ( say 'Healthy', because their healthy isn't really true health food.)

Why Get so Worked up http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1735553

Has Disney gone too far http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1734096

If Disney goes to wheat buns for all its hot dogs, I will be screaming from the top of my lungs. Don't they realize that some people CAN'T eat wheat buns? What the heck are we supposed to do? Bring our own?

Are you referring to wheat allergies? I thought about that too-there are lots of people nowadays on wheat free diets. I'll bet if you tell them at the counter, they will find you an alternative bread option from MS bakery or other nearby place. I've heard they are pretty good about that.

If one has Celiac's (gluten allergy) they can't eat white buns either.

Isn't white made from wheat, too? We don't have allergies in our house, but I'm pretty sure if you can't eat wheat buns, you can't eat the white buns either.

You can't eat wheat or white buns if you have a wheat allergy.

I believe that they have gluten free buns for those who have wheat allergies.

Not sure, I don't have these allergies. But whichever the case, WDW is pretty good about accomodating specialized diets.

Must be new. I had a Casey's dog on the 7th of Feb and it was nice, soft and non-crumbly.

And I hope to get another in May.

We were there last week and ate there 2 times. The buns are wheat but soft and not dark enough that my kids could tell. They really are yummy and the difference is not noticeable. Keep in mind that Casey's is my favorite restaurant in all of WDW and if something was broke, I would definitely complain! I had nothing to complain about, believe me!

I find it ironic that Disney is going healthy while wrapping a dry wheat bun around hot dogs and hamburgers. Okay - let me have a large diet coke and 6 orders of fries and a funnel cake!

Get the corn dogs, they are great!
