I just entered into contract to buy 150 HH pts resale and now I'm freaking out.
I wasn't really finished making the decision
and the sellers surprised me by accepting the offer. YIKES!
Right now we share two memberships - 150 pts. at VB and 210 pts. at OKW -with another couple. We are going to separate those memberships - they will take the 210 OKW and we will take 150 VB and add the 150 HH. We LOVE HH and will go there every year (any time of year). We also LOVE OKW and plan to to there every year too (summer or fall). We have never been to VB and don't intend to (bought in 1996 because of free tickets) - but neither do our friends who live on an Island and have no love for beach vacations, so we agreed to take VB and let them have OKW - mainly because it gave us an excuse to buy at HH. But now I'm worried about not owning at OKW. So I have a couple of questions:
(1) I see that many of you own at a number of different resorts. Why do you do that?
(2) We really don't care about staying anywhere on property other than OKW and maybe WLV as we get older and kids go away. Do you think we'll have a problem getting OKW reservations without a OKW membership? We never go at peak times. I figure because OKW is so large, it would generally be available within the 7-months, right?
(3) Why is VB's resale value so much lower than the other resorts? Is it the dues or does no one really go there? In a perfect world, I'd sell 150 VB and buy 150 WLV - any thoughts on how much of a loss I'd take on that?
Thanks.
