When I stayed in the North Garden Wing in 1980 (yes, 27 years ago! eek!), it wasn't very nice. Granted, I was 13 at the time. But from what I remember the interior hall leading to the room had a low ceiling and was dark and dingy.
The room was large, but things seemed worn. It was definitely ready for a refurbishment.
The view was WONDERFUL, however! We were on the first floor and could step out to the patio and be just feet from the beach. We loved our location. And we were a short walk from the Magic Kingdom.
But two years later, we stayed in a Tower Room and knew we would never go back to the wings. At the time, a Tower Room seemed worth it at any cost.
I am wondering if that is the case now. I could afford a Garden Wing room, but I may have difficulty affording a Tower Room until my daughter is out of childcare and in kindergarten.
If I knew the Garden Wing rooms were recently refurbished and the wing itself didn't feel dingy, I would be back there in a heartbeat.
Can someone who has been inside both recently give me his or her assessment?
Thanks!
